Steps to Apply for Go Gold...
Step 1
Applicants must carefully consider which criteria meets their level of performance. Previous applicants to this fund should be aware that some elements of the criteria have changed and it is advised that all aspects of this are read carefully.
Step 2
Applicants should read the criteria for all levels carefully, together with the list of recognised sports to clarify whether or not their sport is eligible for funding before completing the relevant application form.
Step 3
Applications are completed using our online application process which will be available on the bottom of this webpage from 1st September 2013. If you have any difficulties using this, or require a paper copy then please contact Kim Lillie at Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport via email or post:

Step 4
On receipt of a completed application, it will be checked to ensure that all sections have been completed satisfactorily and a confirmation of receipt will be sent out.
All applications will then be sent to the appropriate National Governing Body (NGB) for prioritisation and approval before being submitted to the Go Gold Panel. The Panel's decision will be communicated via letter in January.
Presentations of all GO GOLD Awards will take place at an evening ceremony at County Hall, hosted by the Chairman of Leicestershire County Council on Monday 18th February and Thursday 28th February 2013; athletes will be expected to attend one of these evenings to receive their award.
Important Information
All sections of the application form should be completed and confirmed that they are submitted with parental/guardian consent if under 18 years. Any incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant for amendment, providing there is sufficient time for it still to be submitted before the closing date.
All awards are given at the discretion of the Go Gold Panel and all applicants will be advised of the decision taken. If an applicant is dissatisfied with the outcome of their application, they may contact the Panel in writing only - no dialogue regarding an application will be entered into on the telephone or via email.
All awards will be paid in instalments with the subsequent payments sent following the receipt of requested feedback via the online Athlete Blog. Applicants who do not complete the feedback will not receive their subsequent payments.
Timeline for 2012/13 applications
The GO GOLD Programme runs from February - February each year, with the application process opening in September (subject to funding). If you have applied for GO GOLD 2012/13 please find the timeline for your application as follows:

Nov + Dec – NGB's to comment and prioritise applications
Jan – GO GOLD Panel Meeting + Athletes informed of their applications result
Feb – GO GOLD Awards Evenings
You will be informed the result of your application by letter from the GO GOLD Panel in January 2013. Successful applicants will then be invited to attend one of two GO GOLD Talented Athlete Award evenings to receive their first funding cheque instalment to be presentated by the Chairman of Leicestershire County Council.
