CAU Inter Counties win!
I ran at the the CAU Inter Counties race at Cofton Park, Birmingham yesterday. I had previously been selected to compete for Leicestershire & Rutland due to my previous race form. The conditions were awful with really heavy mud throughout the course but I felt good and I won the race! This was really great because there were runners from all over the country, not just England.

Virgin Mini Marathon Trials
Last Sunday I ran in the Virgin Mini Marathon trials which was held in the grounds of Loughborough university. Having picked up a cold on the Friday my aim was just to finish in the top 6 for the selection to run for the East Midlands team at the Mini Marathon in April. This race now doubles as the National Road racing championships. I won the race and felt quite good so I will now look forward to travelling to London in April.

Improving! 5th at the English National XC
On the come-back trail after my injury, I am beginning to notice that I am getting stronger and more competitive with every race. I was really pleased with my race at the English National XC champs and my 5th place finish in Sunderland. The conditions were really tough because it had snowed and it was really muddy under the snow.

End of Great School Season... Time for National Club Indoor Finals!
During the National School Finals I broke a finger but continued to play the rest of the matches so currently I'm unable to play in IWHL for club so next competition date is in April where my team look to defend our National U18 Club Indoor Title from last year. It will be different playing indoor hockey in April as it was postponed from January due to snow but I very much look forward to refining and adapting my stick skills for the Indoor game!

End of Great School Season! cont.
Last week it was time to defend the National Schools' Outdoor Title, we won our group in order to qualify for the National Final. The final was a close match which was drawn 1-1 at the end of full time so went to penalty strokes which unfortunately we narrowly lost 4-3 but it was a great acheivement and came away with silver medals making us National Runners-up.
I've had a great final season for school scoring plenty of times to help ensure our place in two National Finals.

End of Great School Season
Started this year off with National Schools' Indoor Finals in January where we were successful in defending our title from last year through some tightly fought matches. Semi-final went to penalty strokes and in the final we conceded first but went on to win 4-2 in the end.

200M PB!
Also on Sunday, after the Mini Marathon Trial, I have my third race out of four at LASAs.I was really worried with the 200M front Crawl that I wasn't going to be able to produce a PB, which I did!
I have been trying to break 2:30 for quite at while, and to finally do it gave me a great feeling that all the training I am doing is paying off.
I have just the 50M Front Crawl left and that is in a weeks time: hope I get a PB there too! :)

Mini Marathon Trial!
Last sunday, I did the Mini Marathon trial; I did the Mini Marathon in 2011, after qualifying 5th, younger age (under 13) and had a good race and really enjoyed the experience (It was my birthday on the race day!) and I qualified in 2012 too in 2nd, but unfortunally I broke my big toe and pulled the nail off just the weekend before, so I couldn't race. I was so uspet! :(
Luckly though, even younger age (under 15) I qualified 2nd this year, which I am really pleased with!
I can't wait, and hope not to break my toe! :)

Barcelona Training Camp
After getting back from a successful county cup with me winning 4/4 matches and helping Leicestershire to gain promotion into division 3 for next year, I will be leaving the country tomorrow for two weeks to train in Spain. I am very excited as I have never trained abroad before and it will be a great chance for me develop my clay court skills as there are hardly any clay courts in Britain. Only 24 players from all around Britain are going so I was very pleased when they gave me the news that my application was successful.

It's grand at the Nationals
I was back at Birmingham's NIA on 23rd February
for the National Under 17 Indoor Championships. I knew that if I wanted to be
in with a shot at the medals I had to be performing at the top of my game.
Fortunately, a new personal best of 4 metres and 50 centimetres brought me the
runners-up spot and the Silver medal.
Vault Manchester on 9th
March is my final competition of the Indoor season, 110 vaulters and 3 competition
areas, then it's back to some serious work in training before the outdoor
season begins in late April.

100M!
On Saturday I had the 100M Front Crawl and my time was 1:10, and I was really hoping to break 1:10 because I have been training really hard to try and beat it.
I manage to beat 1:10 by a second, meaning my current time is 1:09: I am really pleased with this time and hope to make further improvments in the furture :)

2nd race, Ster van Zwolle.
In better conditions than the previous week I managed to take a 5th place in the Ster van Zwolle in Holland.
Coming into the finish I could see the escape group just a little ahead on the road and as I started my sprint I caught some guys from the break away but 4 just hung on to the finish as we crossed the line.
A little improvement on the result from last week so still hoping for a win soon.

Divisional training for UKSG
Had a Divisional training session yesterday in preparation for UK School Games 2013. It was our 3rd training session so far, and our team looks potentially very strong. After winning the gold last year, we are aiming for the same result. We have won the School Games 2 years in a row and intend to make it 3. Our next training is in April where we hope to bring our team together even more.
Thank you Go Gold for the funding, as without it i would find it very hard to travel to all the training sessions.

Jumping Training for AS Level PE (Eventing)
AS Levels PE - For one of my practical sports I'm doing Eventing, to prepare me for my assessment we went to Willoughby Lodge for some training.
We worked on my riding, style and jumping linked jumps and a course of Show Jumps.
We then went on to jump the Cross Country fences and worked on jumping at XC speed and doing gear changes for narrow fences and angle jumps.
I will update next week on how I got on at my AS PE assessment and I have video footage from the day.

18&U County Cup
A few weeks back, I was chosen to represent Leicestershire in the annual county competition. Tomorrow we travel to Sunderland where we will face Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and East of Scotland. There should be some tough matches and I will enjoy helping Leicestershire search for promotion for next years competition.
Let's go Leicestershire!!!

first race, Beverbeek classic
I settled quickly into the race keeping up near the front to stay out of danger. The peleton remained intact untill the finishing circuits where a break of 6 went clear including a team mate. No teams got organised enough to chase and the group made it to the finish. Another 2 riders escaped in the final leaving the best place available for the bunch as 9th. Unfortunately I stuffed up the finish and got 11th. Disappointing as I had the legs to do better but a promising start to the season and it looks good for the next races.

End of Winter Indoor Series
Personally I thought I had had a disappointing Winter Season but it seems everybody else had a disappointing time as well!!
I actually finished 5th nationally and 1st in the Midlands Region in the Under 15's Winter Regional Tour. Ladies British Tour starts next week at Loughborough so aiming to qualify for the Main Draw and progress further, then suspend tennis tournaments until after GCSE's!!

GYMNASTICS
I am twelve years old and I love gymnastics. I train at Hinckley and Burbage Gymnastics Club and I've had a fantastic year becoming Leicestershire All Round County Champion and East Midlands Regional Champion at level 2.
Last Saturday I attended the East Midlands Gymnastics awards ceremony because I had been nominated for an award for "Outstanding Achievement" and I was runner-up. It was a brilliant night especially when my club Hinckley & Burbage won "Large Club of the year".
Currently I am working hard and learning new skills ready the competition season.
