British Internationals

Last weekend I swam at the British Internationals in Leeds. I competed in the 50m butterfly and the 50m breastroke, I swam both my personal bests in the heats and then qualified into the finals; improving on my previous swims early on in the session, I finished in 4th place in my butterfly and 7th on my breaststroke.

british university league

Hi guys,

last weekend I took part in the semi finals of the British University LEague for Sheffield Hallam. Being recently promoted into division 1 last year meant we didn't expect to get this far however a fantastic performance saw us beat Birmingham and Bristol. This takes us through to the finals at the end of this month. I am proud of the entire team!!!

Leicestershire ASA County Championships

Yesterday was the final day of the County Age Group Championships, and I came first in the 14 year age group. Over the 3 weekends I won 9 gold medals and I also won the Junior 100m Individual Medley Championship. I got some good PB's, I had to be swimming at my best to win as the other boys in my age group are also improving and swimming really well. Well done to everyone.

I am now looking forward to my next open meet in Portsmouth at Easter.

Show Jumping Training

This weekend I did some Show Jumping Training and it was a great session, the horse went well and I did not get wet either. The weather is again causing problems with the start of the event season with lots of events being cancelled, hopefully it will dry up soon and I can get out eventing.

Bronze Medal at English Schools!

I ran in the Senior Girls race yesterday at Catton Hall Derbyshire for the English School's Cross Country and came third. The course was a great course but the mud underfoot was really difficult to run in. I thought the Inter Counties last week had been bad but this was even worse! So to come away with a bronze medal was really good.

I still have another year in this age group and after my injury I am pleased that the end of the season has been so good.

English Schools XC Result

Today i ran in the English Schools xc championships and came 5th! My best result of the season.

Conditions were terrible so it was one of my hardest races yet but I had a strong run and beat alot of good runners that I wasn't expecting to. As I finished in the top 8 I qualified for the English School's International XC Team and will represent england on Saturday 23rd march 2013 in the International School's XC championships. I'm aiming for top 10.

School Gala

Last Monday (11/03/13) my school, English Martyrs, had their first swimming gala at De Montfort University against another school and we won. Unfortunately I wasn't able to race because I was still recovering from my knee dislocation, but I was there to help as team manager and to support the other swimmers with our head of P.E. On the 22/03/13 we are racing at Loughborough Uni in the Leicestershire and Rutland games and I have been given the go ahead from my sports therapist to race as I am almost back to full training.

Inter County Championships!

Last Saturday I ran in the Inter County Championships at Birmingham at Crofton Park. This was my first year as an under 15, meaning I had to do 2 laps!

I was really pleased with how my race went, though I had a bad start partly because I was 5th in the pen and a girl from another county fell over in front of me! Over all I came 46th and Leicestershire came 4th, only 1 point off a team medal!

This weekend I have English Schools, 50M Front Crawl and an East Midlands Academy Day: a busy weekend! :)

County championships

On the first weekend of the county age groups I got my 2nd national qualifying time in 100m breaststroke, I was really pleased. I also did 100m fly and 200m IM and got big PBS and won both. The next weekend I managed to get 3 golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze!!!

Down under

After the long flight we set about acclimatising to the jet lag and heat land training at Sydney University. We had two sessions in the morning with afternoons off. This meant we could top up the tan at Bondi & Manly beach! It was sad to wave goodbye to Sydney and we are now on a 10 day training camp in Canberra. We stay here for a few more days until we leave for Penrith in time for the World Cup. I raced here 4 years ago at Youth Olympic festival so I'm really looking forward to going back.

Belgium Bound

My road season starts properly on the 20th March - with a month long block of racing in Belgium in the lead up to the first four rounds of the Nations Cup races at the end of April.

I've had three training camps out in Majorca now - it feels like my fitness and form is where it should be, certainly heading in to the road season in pretty good shape.

Will keep you all posted on how racing goes.

Racing with the pro's

My first big race with the pro's. World champion Marianne Vos won, Giorgia Bronzini former World Champion took 2nd, somehow I managed to finish eighth! It was a tough day with several big crashes. Three riders got away, but with 25km left, the peloton regrouped and prepared for a bunch sprint. It was great to sprint against the strongest women in the world. I didn't expect it would go so well already. I came out of the winter fit and my sprint is good, but this is absolutely amazing and gives me good hope for the rest of the season.

Weekend Training

A very cold weekend training down at Rutland water, with the wind chill reaching -8 degrees! A good day on Saturday boat-prepping in the morning followed by a sail in the afternoon. Sunday brought lots of snow and so we were unable to reach the club and so we spent half the day in the gym, all in all a good weekend!

Just had a great 2 weeks of rugby

Found out I was in the U16s squad to play Wigan Warriors-really exciting but didn't want to let the U16s down. Tuesday-played a tournament for Leicester EPDG. Thursday-went to the presentation…was awarded my grant cheque…thanks to LRS, and the County and City Councils. Friday-trained with my union club-our County Cup semi that weekend-we won…on to the final! Monday and Wednesday-trained with the U16s-ready for the Wigan match…then it was matchday! I played in the second half-really glad to get my first tackle in…thoroughly enjoyed it-came off the field wanting more. Now enjoying my gym membership…thanks to Everyone Active.
