Bronze Medal in the Euros

Not the colour medal we wanted but what a result it was for us to get the bronze medal in the European Championships. A massive thank you to everyone who has helped along my journey. I really couldn't of asked for better support or preparation. Personally was fantastic not to concede a goal throughout the championships and have qualified for the World Cup. Preparation starts now !!!

National School Games Finals 2017

Really enjoyed racing last weekend for Central England. The atmosphere was fantastic in the pool and I was delighted with my gold in the 1500 free. My turns have improved and I was so pleased with the way I paced the race as it was tough so early in the season, which began last week! Am learning all the time and enjoying the 1500 more and more. Also a gold in the Boys 4x200 free relay. Very exciting race!

School Games day 3

60 km Road Race. Hard with a tough 8 climbs. My race was going really well and I was feeling really good. At the front on the climbs and then the break went. It was going to be the move of the day and I bridged over to it. Unfortunately I didn't last long in it and dropped back. Massive stomach cramps set in and I had to stop and was helped by the ambulance. Really disappointing, but I have the strength I just need to use it better. A great weekend thank you to UKSG and GoGold.

School Games day 2

Day 2. East mids leading at the start. 50 m standing starts and 12km Team Time Trial on Zwift. Zwift is basically being on a turbo but as a team racing other teams. The 50 m standing starts were great for us with all 4 riders getting in the top 15. The turbo effort was so hard, we just ripped it up and got 3rd place by just 1 second. Great fun and East Mids leading at the end of the day.

School Games day 1

Day 1 - short scratch races in teams and skills relay. The short races were 6 kms and were fantastic. teams had to work together to deliver their chosen rider to the line in as best place possible. This meant some really close racing. East Mids managed a 3rd place, 2nd place and a win. The skills relay: put a cape on - take it off - take a bottle (left and right) take a wheel out and put it back in. East Mids 1st place

School Games Part 1

Done! now back at school. What a great weekend. It was fantastic to experience 3 days of racing. I had some ups and some downs. The East Midlands team were leading the team competition until the last day and had to settle for 4th place on count back - only 2 points off 2nd place. Well done to Wales for their win.

🎓School v Training🤸‍♀️

I started back at school this week (year 9) it's so hard balancing school and training, my timetable means I will miss 2 English lessons a week, but hopefully with the support of my head teacher it will work out ok and I won't get behind. I'm still working hard in the gym building my routines ready for British Espoir in December.

Senior Nationals

At the weekend I competed in the senior national championships with both my junior partners. We were very unlucky in our level doubles draw as we had to play England's top women's doubles pair in the first round, however we managed to get 14 and 8 so we were quite pleased with our scores. We got to the quarter finals of the mixed doubles which was a great result for us as we are only 15 and 16, but ended up losing to another England pair who are 2 years older.

6 Nations

Over the summer I played in the 6 Nations for England U18. We played against Belgium, Ireland, Germany, Spain and Netherlands in a seven day tournament in Nottingham. Unfortunately, we were not able to win any of the games but it was a great experience.

I learned lots and am looking forward to the new season.

Last meet of the season

On the 20th of August, was the last league meeting for one of my clubs Birchfield harriers, in London. I ran in the 100m and got 10.82 into a head wind and then 200m got 21.25 which was okay for the end of the season. Birchfield took the overall win which was great to be a part of.

School Games

The 4x400m team, Ben Higgins, Kyle Calhoun, Ollie Thorner and me. Kyle got us off to a very good start putting us into 2nd place, Ollie who had an extremely hard group of runners in his leg of the relay dropped us to last, Ben got us back into 4th and when I received the baton I did all I could but couldn't make up the gap. However, the team in 4th got DQ so we came away with the bronze. Massive thanks to LRSport.

Manchester International

A few weeks ago I competed in the Manchester international, which was a great meet, with all the home nation's, Denmark and GB junior going head to head. Going into this race I hadn't been doing a lot in training as I'd been away, bit I came a way with a win and a good time of 20.82 and a windy season best. Give it a watch below.

DTL Clay Shooting Classic

The 26th and 27th August was the DTL Clay Shooting Classic at Bywell Shooting Ground. On the first day I shot my first ever perfect score, scoring 300/300 points, which put me joint first overall. The second day I shot 294/300 points to give me a combined score of 594/600 points for the weekend. This meant I won Juniors and came Joint 1st in 'A' class, as well as joint 5th Overall. After a shoot-off I won A class and went into the super final, in which I came second, narrowly missing out on winning a new gun

Harpenden 7s

Last Sunday I represented Scimitar Exiles at the Harpenden 7s, as the first tournament that a female team was entered under the Exiles name it was a very exciting opportunity to be part of! The team mostly made up of Loughbrough lightning players made it into the final of the tournament, and lost by one try in the last play. However it was a great day, and enjoyable to be playing competitively again.

Fireball European Championship

A new boat, helming a double hander off the south coast for a week

This was a lot harder with the european sailors having little respect for rules and boats! i had to be on top of my game

The second race we had a breakage and had to retire, but we steadily progressed throughout the week to get a 3rd in Bronze Fleet at the end which means we qualify for the world championships in France next year

pleased with this as i was the youngest competitor too

Radial World Championships

It was fair to say team GBR had a terrible week

The conditions of the sea were unlike any seen before and unique to this part of Holland, continuous chop and light wind made it very hard

The Dutch team dominated, i was disappointed to finish 40th, i had a new sail on which really wasn't ideal for the wind but you aren't allowed to change kit after measurement

good experience

a challenging week in France against girls who were well over 6 foot!

Again another light wind event which meant there was an element of luck with the wind

pleased to finish 27th

thank you GoGold for the gym membership as this has meant my fitness is good for the continuous competitions

I also won top female, 3rd in special pursuit race and Derbyshire bell for top performer!

Midland Grand Prix

This was ultimate pond sailing, small lake, low water and no wind!

28 boats made for a packed startline and once clear, the light winds meant that i had lots of role tack and role gybe practice

a testing day against the full rigs, but pleased to say i finished 1st Radial, 1st Lady and youth

Moved up to 6th overall in the series

End of the track season

On Saturday 26 August I ran a 3000m and 1500m at Loughborough track hoping to get new PB in both event. I only managed to get a new P.B in the 3000m as it turned out it was too much for me to achieve the goal on the day. I am not impressed with my track season this year and happy it's coming to an end so as I can started fresh with the cross country season.
