EYOF

Representing team GB at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Györ, Hungary, was a huge honour. I raced well with two PBs in my 400IM and 800free and placing fifth overall in both. My 400free and 200IM did not go as well but I was still very happy to be given this amazing opportunity. The atmosphere was great and I would love to be involved in another international multi sport event.

British Nationals 2017

Just back home from British Summer Championships 2017. This season hasn't been my best, 50m breaststroke didn't go to plan. Now i am looking forward to the 100M breaststroke next week, after a confident swim in the Medley Relay.

End of Season

I have three weeks off training time to relax, have a holiday and spend time with family and friends.

I start back training at Loughborough on August 28th for one week before I travel out to Turkey for two weeks on a training camp getting ready for the new season.

Overall I have had a Brilliant Long Course season dropping below sub 2.30 on 200 Breaststroke PB ,below sub 1.10 on the 100 Breaststroke PB and a PB on the 50 Breaststroke.

Also a very good short course season achieving PB'S on all my Breaststrokes. Achieving Long and Short Course Leicestershire County Records too.

British Summer Championships July 25th 2017

I travelled to Ponds Forge Sheffield to compete in 50m, 100m and 200m Breaststroke events.

Tuesday was the 50m Breaststroke which I made the final for 19 years and over and finished 7th.

Wednesday was my main event the 200m Breaststroke I swam OK in the heat, going into the final 6th fasted.

In the Final 19 years and over I WON A SILVER MEDAL which I was very pleased with.

Sunday was my final race 100m Breaststroke, I was very disappointed with my race but that's swimming for you. It's like a roller coaster ride a few ups and quite a few downs.

54th Settecolli Trophy - International Swimming Championships Rome.

I travelled to Rome June 21st to compete at The 54th Settecolli Trophy Championships, where I had entered the three Breaststroke events.

I swam alright but this meet was outdoors and I haven't competed in many competitions outdoors.

I then had three days on a training camp and some time to do some sight seeing.

Nationals and more training!

Nationals weekend was at the start of the month- unfortunately it wasn't my best, the lack of training and competing while focusing on exams took its toll on my level of performance. I used the weekend as experience and a chance to refocus on fencing over the summer break.

I have increased the number of days I train with my coach and have increased my fitness by working at home. I have also booked to go on a fencing camp in Malvern towards the end of August in preparation for the new season!

Junior Outdoor National's Championships

On the Saturday, at the metric event, I won the ladies under 18 recurve title. Then on the Sunday, which is the actual national championships, I shot a personal best at the round and also meant that I won the under 18's national title. This is my 5th consecutive winning title I've won in my age group at the national championships! I was really pleased with my performance over the weekend and I was so happy to enjoy my last junior nationals and finish them so well.

Training going well

Summer training is upon us and things in the gym are very quiet despite me continuing to work hard to build my fitness and skills back up post injury. I am now starting to really get back into my Gymnastics and working hard to compete again over the next few months. Thanks everyone for your continued support 👍

European DTL Championship

Saturday and Sunday 22/23rd July was the DTL European Championships and on the first day I shot an average score of 98/285. The following day I shot 98/288 which was enough for joint 3rd in colts (under 16). I had to do a shoot off for the bronze medal which was very tense but I held my nerve to win the shoot off meaning I took a bronze medal in the Under 16 European Championships. I'm very pleased with that!

Home international and British Open

I shot the Home International on Thursday 20th. This was my first time representing England so the nerves were getting the better of me. I ended up shooting an 'average' 95/277 in tough conditions. My England junior team won the Home international though. The following day was the British Open where I shot a lot better with a score of 98/290. That was enough for the England juniors to win the British open. My second team win in two days.

European Championships 2017 Day 2

On day 2 of the competition the conditions were similar to the first day, with showers and gusts of wind. I shot a 298/300, which was the joint highest Junior score on the day. The team finished on a score of 1743/1800, which meant that we finished second in the team event behind Northern Ireland. However my individual score over the 2 days was 591/600, which gave me second in the Individual U21's, 1 point behind first, and first in 'A' Class. This meant I came away with 2 silver and 1 gold medal from the European championships

European Championships 2017 Day 1

Saturday 22nd June was the first day of the European Championships 2017, again held at the National Shooting Centre Scotland. This was both an individual event and a team event, for which I was part of the 3 person England U21's team. The conditions were very poor with heavy rain and strong wind making the targets erratic and sometimes hard to pick out. I shot a 293/300, which put me second in the individual U21's category, 1 point behind first, as well as helping the team to be in first place at the halfway stage with a score of 869/900

British Open 2017

The British Open 2017 was also held at the National Shooting Centre Scotland. I was part of the 5 person team representing the England U21's, with 4 scores to count. I shot a 295/300, which combined with the other scores gave the team a total of 1164/1200, meaning we won the British Open team event. As well as this I also won the England Junior High Gun over 2 days and the England Junior, Lady, Veteran or Super-Veteran High gun of 2 days for my score from the British Open combined with the score from the Home International with 585/600

Loule Cup, Portugal

I've had confirmation this month that I will be competing for Great Britain in the Loule Cup in Portugal again this year. Training is ongoing at my club with me concentrating on my routines and polishing certain elements within them. July has been another month without any competitions but I'm looking forward to the residential camps next month and the start of a busy domestic and international competition season starting in September and continuing till the end of the year.

Futures Cup

I travelled to York and Manchester to take part and hopefully get selected for the next stage of England hockey by playing in cluster competitions against other teams, such as Durham and Manchester. Nottingham(the team I was in) had a very good squad. Unfortunately I was not selected but this could be the best thing for me as I'll come back having worked and trained harder, hopefully progressing into England.
