Charnwood is very fortunate to have a strong sporting history and community with the likes of Lord Sebastian Coe, Paula Radcliffe, Liam Tancock having strong sporting and personal links to the Borough.
What better way to celebrate Charnwood's sporting culture this Olympic year than with the Charnwood Sports Awards which celebrate the sporting success of individuals and teams throughout the Borough.
The Awards are a fantastic way of recognising athletes, those dedicated volunteers who gie up their spare time to coach and those that often go unnoticed but work tirelessly behind the scenes to help clubs run smoothly.
The 2012 Awards focus on the achievements gained from September 2011 - 31st August 2012. The exceptions to these are the contribution to School Sport Award and the Outstanding Contribution to Sport and Physical Activity Awards which are not restricted to this 12 month period. Deadline for nominations is 22nd October 2012.
