Welcome to Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport's (LRS) Funding Finder! There are a number of local, regional and national sources of funding available for clubs/groups, facilities, talented individuals and coaching. Use our Funding Finder below to identify the most suitable funding schemes.

Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport can provide further advice and support for your club/group to identify the most applicable source of funding and support you with the application process. Please visit the Funding pages of our website or use our Funding Support service in your Dashboard.

Receive our 'Funding & Clubs Newsletter' - highlighting the most recent and suitable funds available. You will first need to register and log in, go to your 'Dashboard' and under your Profile, select 'Clubs & Funding' in your Email Preferences.

Local, Regional and National funding sources can added to Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport's (LRS) Funding Finder. To submit a funding source, you will first need to register and log in and then click Add Fund. You should then complete the online form. All submissions will be approved by LRS prior to becoming live.

Better Communities Fund

Amount: up to £40,000

Round Deadline: 1:56pm - Tue 4th July, 2017

The Better Communities Fund is being run by GLL a charitable social enterprise that manages leisure centres, libraries and other community services. The fund supports projects that help to get communities active and aims to help everyone to enjoy sport and physical activities, and to ensure that children and young people experience the benefits of a healthy lifestyle that participating in sport and physical activity can support.

Fields in Trust - Active Spaces programme

Amount: up to £5,000

Deadline: 11:59pm - Fri 7th July, 2017

The Active Spaces programme combines the protection in perpetuity of green spaces, together with revenue funding to engage inactive people on those spaces. Each site will be offered delivery of a physical activity project on-site to the value of £5,000 to serve local needs and target identified groups of inactive people.

Weston Charity Award

Amount: up to £6,500

Round Deadline: 11:04am - Tue 18th July, 2017

The Weston Charity Awards have been created to celebrate and support great charities working in the fields of Youth, Welfare and Community.
The Awards were initially launched in the North East of England but were extended through the the whole of the North of England and now we have extended them even further to include the Midlands.

The Paul Hamlyn Foundation Youth Work Grant

Amount: £10,000 to £60,000

Round Deadline: 11:31am - Tue 18th July, 2017

The Paul Hamlyn Foundation (PHF) has a grant fund of £25m a year until 2021 and £4m a year has been set aside for projects focused on helping marginalised young people. Youth work organisations can apply to two new funds - a Youth Fund and a Growth Fund. The Youth Fund will provide grants of between £10,000 and £60,000 to go towards core operating costs.

Youth Social Action Fund

People's Postcode Trust Small Grant

Amount: £500 to £10,000

Round Deadline: 11:46am - Thu 27th July, 2017

Since 2009, People’s Postcode Trust has awarded more than £14m to over 1800 projects across Great Britain. In 2017 People’s Postcode Trust aims to help people – ensuring they have the skills, opportunities and rights to improve their lives.

Skipton Building Society Grassroots Giving

Amount: up to £500

Grassroots Giving aims to support small community groups which might not normally attract any sort of funding.

Biffa Award

Amount: £10,000 to £75,000

Round Deadline: 12:00am - Wed 16th August, 2017

Biffa Award uses money from landfill tax credits, donated by Biffa Waste Services to award grants to community and environmental projects across the UK.

WREN FCC Community Action Fund

Amount: up to £50,000

Deadline: 11:59pm - Wed 23rd August, 2017

WREN will accept applications for the provision, maintenance or improvement of identified types of public amenity.

Veolia Environmental Trust Reopens for Applications

Amount: £10,000 to £75,000

Deadline: 11:59pm - Thu 31st August, 2017

The Veolia Environmental Trust offers grants of up to £75,000 for projects located within the proximity of a qualifying Veolia site in England or Wales. Match funding of at least 20% is required, and applicants requesting grants of £40,000 or more require a Third Party Contribution.

The funding is available for capital improvement projects at a single site with discrete start and end dates.

Amount: up to £5,000

Hilden accepts applications at anytime but the closing date for the Spring meeting is: Thursday March 16th 2017

Support Family Based Projects

Amount: £1,000 to £5,000

Deadline: 11:59pm - Fri 1st September, 2017

Registered charities whose activities involve all or most family members in initiatives that support and encourage the family to work as a cohesive unit in tackling problems that face one or more of its members can apply for grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 through the Kelly Family Charitable Trust.

Baron Davenport's Charity

Amount: £200 to £1,000

Round Deadline: 12:00pm - Fri 15th September, 2017

Grants are available to charitable organisations within 60 miles of Bimingham Town Hall for special projects, equipment and running costs for almshouses, hospices, residential homes for older people, children's charities and individuals in need.

Tackle Inactivity and Economic Disadvantage Fund

Sport England have announced that they will be launching a new £3 million "Tackling Inactivity and Economic Disadvantage" funding round in mid-April 2017 for projects that target inactive people who have little income.

Sport England Potentials Fund

Amount: up to £50,000

Deadline: 11:59pm - Sat 16th September, 2017

Organisations that can demonstrate their ability to deliver quality volunteering opportunities have until the 24th April 2017 to apply to Sport England's new Potentials Fund.

The Mick George Community Fund

Amount: £5,000 to £50,000

Deadline: 11:59pm - Wed 27th September, 2017

The Mick George Community Fund has roughly £200,000 available to community projects that meet the criteria per year. In order to submit a loan application all projects must be located within the vicinity of a Mick George site and operating area.

Play Tennis Fund

Amount: up to £5,000

Deadline: 11:59pm - Fri 3rd November, 2017

The Play Tennis Fund is a small grants funding scheme aimed at supporting the tennis network across Britain in establishing effective local projects to grow tennis participation. Projects can apply for a maximum of £5,000 from the Play Tennis Fund and can target any age group of participants from 12 years of age upwards.

SUEZ Landfill Communities Fund

Amount: £1 to £50,000

Deadline: 11:59pm - Fri 10th November, 2017

SUEZ Communities Trust provides funds to not-for-profit organisations to undertake work that is eligible under the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF). Applications are considered for three areas of work which qualify for funding through the LCF.
