Team Sports based at Fulhurst community College run sports sessions for young people every evening and weekend. They would like to recruit a volunteer to support their sessions by helping to plan and run activities and coach some of the sessions. This is a great to earn some really valuable coaching experience. No particular qualifications are needed, however a coaching qualification and/or experience of coaching would be really useful. The role will suit somebody who enjoys working with young people and is confident and outgoing in their approach. Hours are flexible as sessions are held every evening and weekend mornings. Soft Touch Arts delivers a youth programme called MASH UP on Friday nights at Allexton Youth Club, and at other locations in New Parks and Beaumont Leys on Saturday evenings. The programme provides opportunities for young people to get involved in a wide variety of creative activities, to allow them to build new skills, gain confidence and have some fun. Some of the young people who attend have requested physical activities as part of the programme. A volunteer is needed to run some sports sessions with the group; basketball, multi sports, football etc. The idea would be to work with the group and plan activities that they would like to do.
