Sport Relief Skipathon

Katherine Jenkins helped to transform the heart of London into 'Skipadilly Circus' as she launched Sure's challenge to get a million skips for Sport Relief.

The singing soprano was at Piccadilly Circus to encourage members of the public to take part in the Sure Skipathon. The event aims to encourage the nation to get moving by logging their skips and helping to reach the one million target

Watched by crowds of passers-by, Katherine took part in a daring Double Dutch routine alongside professional skipping groups, The British Skipping Rope Association and Streets United.

Sure is partnering with Sport Relief for 2016, and has put skipping at the heart of its campaign, in a bid to get the nation moving more and having fun. It chose the activity after research commissioned by the company, and conducted by Fly Research, found that almost two thirds of Brits find it impossible to skip without a smile on their face (62%).

People of all ages are being encouraged to log their skips using their smartphones and the Sure website, with the aim to reach one million skips.

"Skipping is guaranteed to put a smile on your face, so we have pledged to make fundraising with Sure fun by encouraging the nation to donate their skip for Sport Relief," Sure Brand Manager Claudio Bellen said.

To take part in the Sure Skipathon visit SureSkipathon.co.uk and follow the simple instructions to donate your skip. Don't forget to use the hashtag #SureSkipathon to get your friends and family involved too.

Money raised through Sport Relief will be spent helping to make a difference to people living incredibly tough lives, both here at home in the UK and across the world's poorest communities.
