Schools Fitness Week

Joe Wicks, better known as The Body Coach, is launching Schools Fitness Week on Monday with the aim of getting 1 million children exercising.

School Fitness Week will run for 5 days, with a live workout streamed each day on Joe Wick's 'The Body Coach YouTube channel at 10am from Monday September 11th - Friday 15th September 2017.

The aim of the schools week is to get more kids active and feel the benefits of exercise. Joe wants young people to see that fitness can be fun.

The workouts will suitable for all ages from Primary School through to High School, meaning pupils of all ages can take part.

Every day for a week Joe will be hosting a live 20-minute workout with a short warm-up, meaning each session will last around 30 minutes.

After each workout, Joe will be asking all schools and teachers to log their details, school name and number of pupils who took part, so they can keep track of who's getting involved.

Joe launched the fitness week after running two live workouts for schools earlier this year, in which over 100,000 kids took part in each fun HIIT session. With a week's worth of activity he's hoping to raise that figure and see 1 million students taking part.

Writing on his blog, Joe said of the initiative: "The aim of my schools week is to get more kids active and feel the benefits of exercise. I want young people to see that fitness can be fun and to love it as much I do."
