NGB's

Welcome to the National Governing Bodies of Sport section of the Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport website.

NGBs provide a range of services for players, clubs, coaches and volunteers. NGBs are responsible for the governance, development and promotion of their sport across the nation.

Typically, NGBs would provide the following range of services and functions. (However, these will vary greatly based on the size, capacity and resources of the NGB).

Support and develop sports clubs including:

• Club accreditation schemes (CLUBMARK)
• Volunteer education and recruitment
• Development planning
• Facility development

Coach and player development including:

• Deliver comprehensive programme of coach education courses
• Support the development of existing coaches
• Develop and deliver a comprehensive programme of sub county, county and regional performance squads
• Provide membership opportunities and related membership benefits

Officials development:

• Deliver a comprehensive programme of officials education courses

Schools / Education:

• Provide training opportunities to primary and secondary school teachers to support curriculum and community based activity.

Competition:

• Work with competition providers to provide regular competition opportunities

Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport has an excellent relationship with many of the National Governing Bodies of Sport, both at a local and regional level. We support National Governing Bodies of Sport deliver generic support for clubs and coaches.
