Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport Board

 

Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport, a County Sports Partnership is governed by a number of Board members who bring with them a wealth of skills and knowledge. Their aim, to support Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport in achieving its key objectives to increase participation and widen access to sport and active recreation.

 

Andy Reed  - Chairman

 

I have a genuine passion for sport at every level and believe that I have the links and contacts to use this passion to increase the profile and development of sport in the County.


 

Bill Cullen - Vice Chairman

Deputy CEO   Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council

 

I am passionate about sport and believe sport can truly unite communities.


 

Paul Edwards, Head of Sports Services, Leicester City Council

 

I am passionate about sport and look forward to helping to raise both its profile and influence within the partnership. I am keen to work in partnership with all sectors to deliver actions which will benefit grass roots sport in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.


 

Iris Lightfoote, Chief Executive, The Race Equality Centre

 

The Race Equality Centre currently uses sports as one vehicle to assist in achieving its mission.


 

Tim Garfield, Head of Sport Operations, Loughborough University

 

I strongly believe that Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport can make a significant difference to the quality of sport and activity provision.


 

Barry Thompson, Deputy Managing Director, East Midlands Airport

 

My experience with Leicestershire companies convinces me that there is a desire to connect with local communities and sport offers a main stream way of doing this.

I am a local person having lived in Leicester and Rutland all my life and am passionate about sport at all levels.


 

Stuart Lindeman, Regional Director Education and Planning for  Partnership for Schools.

 

I am deeply committed to the value of PE and School/ Community sport and what it can bring to the lives of young people as well as its contribution to neighbourhood renewal. I believe that the strategic approach CSP’s bring to sports development will enable real progression for children , young people and adults.


Mike Smith (NGB Rep), Vice President of the   English Table Tennis Association, Honorary life member Leicestershire TTA, Vice President Leicester and District TT League

 

I have been involved in a wide range of sports and within that I have a working knowledge of many specialist aspects within sport.  From this I am fully aware of the role sport can play in society and the personal fulfilment that can be gained.
