School Games 2017
Last Thursday, I went to Loughborough University to compete in the School Games. I didn't compete until Saturday afternoon but it was still amazing watching all four countries fighting through all categories. On the day that I fought, I had 4 other people in my category and they were some of the best fights that I ever had. I got a bronze medal and I really hope I get to do it again.

On the 15th, I took part in the Sportif international judo competition. I won my first fight but I lost the next two. After the competition, I did the training camp which was amazing. They were many Olympic and Commonwealth fighters leading the sessions like Gemma Gibson and Neil Adams. The camp was 2 days and I trained for 4 hours each day doing standing and groundwork techniques and randori. I really hope I go again next year.

Yesterday, I took a train to train with the AASE players in Cambridge and it was amazing. All the players were super nice to me and I learnt some really cool setups to try and use in randori. Bob and Natasha(the coaches) were really helpful in pointing out where I doing the wrong technique and showed me how to correct the mistake. There was about fifteen people and so it was good to train with lots of different people with a variety of fighting styles. I'm really looking forward to going again and to my competitions in a weeks time.

I had an amazing time at the midland area age band championships. Although I lost both of my fights it was a great learning curve for me and I can't wait for the rest of the competitions this year to come. Also, I have really enjoyed doing judo at the club at Comberton and training with the AASE players there. I have learnt so much from the fighters there and I'm really looking forward to going there again and to my next competition at Thetford next weekend.

Last weekend I fought in the biggest competition of the Judo calendar in the UK, the British Championships. I had a fantastic time and I had amazing support from my club, friends and family. Overall I came 8th out the 18 people in my group which I'm happy with because it was my first time fighting in cadet's and my second time fighting in under 63s. Thanks to the support I got from the Go Gold funding regime, I have been able to get this far. Thanks so much and I hope everyone has a happy holiday.
