Leicestershire County Selection
The season has just started again after a three week rest for the summer. I was pleased to get an invitation to swim for Leicestershire in the inter-counties gala in Sheffield in October. I was also very pleased to accept a invitation form the East Midlands Beacon programme to train with them on a Saturday morning in Nottingham. This programme offers the elite East Midlands swimmers training in a 50m pool and access to nutritionists, physio's and sports psychologists, although it does mean getting up at 3.30am to get there in time for the session!!

British Summer Nationals Championships
I have just got back from the British Summer Nationals, I competed in 6 events getting to 5 finals. I was thrilled to get 3 British medals in the following events: silver 400 i.m (10 second p.b) Bronze 200 Fly (4 second p.b) and Bronze in the 200 i.m (2 second p.b) and had personal best times in the other events entered. I would like to thank Go Gold and my coaching team, Jamie Evans and Rob Vaughn for their ongoing support that has help me achieve my goals for this season.

I have started to taper my training programme now and am entering a less intense period of training activity, this is so I am in the best physical condition I can be ready for the British Nationals. The Nationals start on the 25th July at Ponds Forge in Sheffield. The Nationals are the main competition that I have been training for since September 2016 and I am really looking forward to racing hard.

National qualifying times
I was really pleased with my times at the East Midlands Championships as it was the last meet in the Nationals Qualifying window. I managed to get 6 qualifying times for the British Championships in July 2017 and this is what I have been striving to achieve since the beginning of the season in September 2016. I hope to do well at the British Nationals and have been training hard and trying to alter my nutrition to achieve the best results I can.

Sheffield Premier Meet
In March, I attended the Sheffield Premier Meet with the City Of Leicester Swimming Club. I was really pleased to get some good times and Personal Bests on the 100 Fly, 200 Fly, 200IM and 400m IM. These were excellent times to go on the Swimming Rankings and I am hoping that they will help me qualify for the British Nationals In July 2017.

I spent last weekend in Liverpool, swimming in the ESSA's inter-divisional championships. It was great to be part of the East Midlands team and I really enjoyed my time with them. I was very pleased to get a bronze medal in the 100m Fly. The Team Managers were fantastic and we were looked after really well- Thanks!

I had 2 further races in the County Championships and added 2 silver medals for the 200m and 400m Freestyle to my County Cup.
I really enjoyed travelling with the East Midlands Team the week before to race in France. It was inspiring to watch World Class and Olympic athletes swim. I won a junior under 18 final and came 5th and 7th in Open age finals. It was my first event of 2017 swimming in a 50m pool and it was great experience before the National qualifying time window starts in March.
