The start of the season is a few weeks away now and the team and I are getting ready and preparing for the first game. The good news is that I have been selected to be the captain this year for the Development team which I am very excited about. I'm looking forward to this new challenge, to show my experience, be a role model and to play a key part within the squad this season.

Pre-season continues and as tough as it is, it is brilliant to push your body to different limits.
During the pre-season period I am having to go to Yeovil 3 to 4 times a week which is a lot of petrol so I just want to say a huge thankyou for the Gogold funding and support given!
Fixtures are also out which is exciting to see the season games. 1st game is against Arsenal development!

Last night was Yeovil Ladies FC awards evening. It was a great night to see the club and team achievements that we've had thoughout the season.
I am so proud that I won the Players player award 2016-17.

Futsal FA cup semi final and PT course
I am in the middle of completing my level 3 Personal Training course which is such a great opportunity!
I also have the FA cup semi final tomorrow against South London which will be tough but we are very much up for the challenge!

Yesterday we (Yeovil development) travelled to play Chelsea, hosted at the mens training ground. Chelsea had already won our league so we knew it was going to be a tough game. We put up a fight and a strong team performance with a half time score of 2-1 (to them). Unfortunately the second half didn't go to plan and with a few soft goals finishing the game at 5-2. I felt the score line did not reflect the game for me and I think the team should be proud on what we achieved yesterday in our performance and work rate.

What a week!
On Wednesday I played in the BUCS Futsal Final in the Copperbox Arena, it was a brilliant experience! Northumbria were a very strong side so although we did not come away with the win, it was still amazing to know that we were ranked 2nd in the country!
On Saturday I played in the Futsal FA cup round 2 for Bath City, we won 2 out of 3 beating Loughborough and Herts meaning a place in the semi finals. Again, fantastic day and loved every minute of playing, bagging a few goals too!

Wales and fitness testing
For the past 5 weeks I've been training in Wales every Monday, it was a brilliant opportunity and the funding has definitely helped with all the travel costs.
The match last week against Reading was a really close game, it was a great team performance and I personally feel we were the better team however the final score was 3-2 to Reading- but that's sport isn't it!
I unfortunately don't have a match tomorrow but instead I have fitness testing with the first team.

Yeovil Training and upcoming fixture
Training alongside the first team has increased the tempo and intensity. The development squad have all upped their game and performance to meet the demands of this. This weekend we are playing Arsenal (away), this will be a good test and opportunity to put the hard work into practice and show the opposition what we are capable of.
Thankyou Go Gold for your ongoing support! The petrol to get to training is a real issue so thank you so much for the funding which is put towards this and allows me to do what I love and compete at this level.

University Futsal and Football
Last week I travelled up to Northumbria with the University team to play in the Quarter finals of the cup. This was a tough game and unfortunately as a team we were unable to show our potential on the pitch and left having been knocked out of the Cup. However University futsal has been much more successful! We played last Saturday in the last league game of the season, knowing that if we won that match we would win the league. The team performance was brilliant and we won 8-2! Great way to end the futsal season.

South West Derby
First league game back after the Christmas break and what a way to start! Yeovil vs Bristol, the South West derby. The previous match against Bristol (earlier in the season) was poor as they out played us and easily won so the game was always going to be a tough one. As a team we battled for 90 minutes and played some brilliant football coming away with a deserved 3-2 win. A top performance from the team and was nice to score to make a specific impact to the result.

Fitness throughout Christmas
For the past few weeks I've been away from Yeovil for the Christmas break. It has been great to be able to use the gym membership as the facilities have helped me maintain a high fitness level. It has been a tough few weeks as the fitness in the gym and on the track has been difficult but very beneficial as I'm now ready to get back to training with the team on the 5th.

Season so far and news on the first team
The season so far has already had plenty of 'ups and downs'. We have played 5 league matches and are currently in 4th position which I feel is a strong position to be in. We have 3 big games before Christmas which we are focusing on and we are working hard in training to ensure we win and stay in the top half of the table.
Exciting news- Yeovil Town First Team won the WSL 2 so are now promoted to WSL 1! It's a brilliant time to be part of the club.
15th Nov, 2016
After being selected to play for Yeovil Town Development I have been travelling back and forth for training sessions and pre-season matches. On the final pre-season friendly we played Cyncoed Ladies, it was a really great performance both individually and as a team. We won 8-0 and I got Player Of The Match which is a good confidence boost going into the season ahead as we will face some tough opposition. Thank you GoGold for the funding that has massively helped this year.

Training and trials
The past few weeks have been busy with travelling to Yeovil and Bristol to complete trials and training sessions. Thanks to Go Golds funding, which has massively helped with petrol and accommodation costs, I have managed to secure a place for Yeovil Town Ladies Development team. Looking forward to playing other WSL development teams like Chelsea and Arsenal this season.

The FA womens Premier League Plate Winners
Todays Final was against Enfield. We started with the first goal but was equalised to make it 1-1. In the last few minutes before half time a brilliant ball was played in for myself to slide in and make the score 2-1. However half way through the second half I had to come off due to injury as the opposition and I both went in for a slide tackle and my leg was on the receiving end! The team showed some good play and finished with a 5-1 win!
We have a County Cup Final on Thursday to now focus on.

The Psychology workshop last week was quality. I learnt so much, how to get into the zone, visual rehearsal, being in the right state, dealing with nerves and having confidence. There were so many techniques that Adrian Peck showed us to get ahead in sport and I am interested to see the results of them when I try them out over the next few months.
Thankyou Go Gold for organising it and I will definitely want to attend the next workshop.

Recovery from injury
I'd like to start by saying thank you so much for the funding that GO GOLD has given me, the presentation was a great night.
The last 2-3 weeks have been rather quiet because of a small injury to my calf. I am slowly getting back into it and enjoyed my first training session yesterday. The physios are working hard to get me injury free as quickly as possible and adjusting programmes for me to complete. I hope to have some time on the pitch this weekend against Wolves in a County Cup game.
