Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games

  • School Games

The Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games is part of the national 'School Games Programme' that is a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire young people to take part in more competitive school sport. It is open to all young people aged 6-18 years, of all abilities and backgrounds from every school across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland.

Delivered locally by Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport (LRS) and the 10 School Sport & Physical Activity Networks (SSPANs), the Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games provides schools the chance to boost their existing work in school sport to create a year-round calendar of competition for all students.

The Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Game won the National Award for the management and delivery of an exceptionally high quality 2012/13 Sainbury's School Games programme! The 2016/17 School Games programme sets to provide 8 Level 3 Super-Series Finals, a Spring and Summer Championships in 40 competitions across 19 sports!
