Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games

The School Games is a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in more competitive school sport.

The Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games is part of a national programme of competitive sport that is open to all young people in every school from across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland. It is a celebration of competitive sport that involves young people aged 5-18 years, of all abilities and backgrounds.

Delivered locally by Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport (LRS) and the School Sport & Physical Activity Networks (SSPAN), the Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games provides schools the chance to boost their existing work in school sport to create a year-round calendar of competition for all students.

How the School Games works

Our Level 3 Offer

Super-Series Finals & Championships

Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport (LRS) will stage multi-sport Super-Series Finals and Championships as a culmination of year-round school sport competition.

Winning teams from Level 2 leagues and tournaments will represent their School Sport & Physical Activity Network (SSPAN) area at these Level 3 Final events:

• Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games Super-Series Finals – run throughout the year in a selection of sports, feeding to regional and national competitions.
• Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games Spring and Summer Championships - multi-sport showcase events - 22nd March (Spring) and 28th June (Summer).
