SPORT MAKERS

There's more than one way of becoming a Sporting Hero

Whether it's planning the route, finding the pitch or encouraging people to take part – sport doesn't just happen, it needs people to make it happen. Become one of 40,000 Sport Makers aged 16+ and you'll not only get the skills, knowledge and opportunities you need to get more people playing sport, you'll become part of the official London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic sports legacy

Sport Makers is a programme to make it easy for you to make sport happen near you. Some Sport Makers will be organising sport for themselves and their friends, colleagues and neighbours. Others won't be taking part themselves, but will be doing all those other things that make the sporting activity possible.

Becoming a Sport Maker will give you the knowledge, information and connections to get better at making sport happen. You will be one of 40,000 like-minded people who are making a difference to the lives of their friends, colleagues or local community. You will be helping to deliver the official London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games sporting legacy by helping more people play more sport and you will be having a good time doing it.

Becoming a Sport Maker is easy and the programme is open to everyone aged 16 and over. First, come to a FREE informal and interactive workshop where you will explore:

  • How Sport Makers fits in with the Olympic and Paralympic values that inspired it
  • How you can make the biggest difference to sport, as a Sport Maker
  • The benefits of being involved and other training opportunities
  • How you can get involved and make sport happen locally

You will also receive some adidas kit for getting involved!
