Active Together Local Champions

The COVID-19 pandemic, and subsequent lockdowns, has had an impact on all walks of life, but many people have used it as an opportunity to find new and innovative ways to be active, despite facilities such as gyms, parks, and leisure centres being inaccessible. For many, it's meant exploring their local area for walks and bike rides, finding new places to exercise right on their doorstep, using space at home to join in with virtual exercise classes, or spending time with family playing in the garden. Our Active Together Local Champions (both families and individuals) are the faces of our new movement, telling their stories about how they have stayed active throughout the first lockdown (and beyond as restrictions ease), including what has motivated them, and how they have overcome any barriers that might have stopped them from being active.
