- Charnwood College
The event will give Key Stage 2 pupils an opportunity to try the disciplines of the triathlon. No previous experience or expertise in triathlon is required. All children will swim in the pool, cycle approximately 800m on grass and run 300m. Bikes, helmets and swimming caps will be provided and every child will receive a t-shirt beforehand and a medal and goody bag when they cross the finish line.
The event will run from 9.30am – 2.00 pm and schools who would like to attend will be allocated a slot for their children to take part in the activities at some point during these times. Each school will be given an arrival time at least 30 minutes before their allocated slot in order to go through the registration and briefing process and then it will take about an hour for the children to complete the event. Once your children have finished the triathlon you will be free to return to school. Each school is invited to bring a maximum of 30 children from any (or all) classes in KS2.
Spaces will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Please note that children taking part in the Triathlon must be able to swim (less confident swimmers will be able to remain in the shallow end of the pool).
