Following the Government announcement on Monday 04th January regarding new lockdown restrictions, sport and leisure facilities are required to close until further notice.
As a result of this announcement, the Community Facility Finder has been disabled until such a time that facilities are able to reopen. If however you are responsible for operating a facility and would like to have your facility information included in the facility finder once you are able to reopen, please contact Joe Hall (Sports Facilities Development Officer) via the information available at the bottom of this page.
In the meantime, Club Matters have produced a useful guide on securing premises in the even of a short term closure which can be accessed here.
Links to reopening guidance remain available on this page to enable those responsible for the operation of facilities to prepare for future reopening. Although the specific nature of future restrictions may change, previous guidance can be used to inform potential measures required such as reduced capacity, distancing requirements and cleanliness protocols.
UK Active have produced a framework to provide clarity and confidence to facility operators in planning their return and reopening. In addition, a Fit Together toolkit and assets can be accessed via the UK Active store.
The Rural Community Council (Leicestershire and Rutland) have made free resources available to provide guidance on the operation of community buildings, such as village halls and community centres, during Covid-19.
Leicestershire County Council have also made similar guidance available with scenarios included to help plan the reopening of facilities.
Both sets of information have been produced in accordance with government guidance - such as that included within the safe use of multi-purpose community facilities and guidance on grassroots sport and sports facilities.
Sport England's hygiene page provides a simple overview of hygiene measure that can be implemented to reduce the risk and spread of Covid-19.
The Health and Safety Executive are asking that organisations pay particular attention to Legionella risk upon return to use of facilities and have produce guidance on managing such risks.
Inclusivity in Reopening
Activity Alliance's new guidance will help providers to enable welcoming, and more accessible environments when activities resume to ensure the benefits of reopening can be enjoyed by all.
