Welcome to Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport's (LRS) Funding Finder! There are a number of local, regional and national sources of funding available for clubs/groups, facilities, talented individuals and coaching. Use our Funding Finder below to identify the most suitable funding schemes.

Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport can provide further advice and support for your club/group to identify the most applicable source of funding and support you with the application process. Please visit the Funding pages of our website or use our Funding Support service in your Dashboard.

Receive our 'Funding & Clubs Newsletter' - highlighting the most recent and suitable funds available. You will first need to register and log in, go to your 'Dashboard' and under your Profile, select 'Clubs & Funding' in your Email Preferences.

Local, Regional and National funding sources can added to Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport's (LRS) Funding Finder. To submit a funding source, you will first need to register and log in and then click Add Fund. You should then complete the online form. All submissions will be approved by LRS prior to becoming live.

UK Coaching

Funding Opportunities for Coaching in the UK

EMD Academy Open Bursary

up to £150

The training grant offers financial support to passionate dance fitness teachers/instructors hoping to develop their career. It is available to anyone wanting to take a course or continuing professional development (CPD).

East Midlands Netball Regional Funding

East Midlands Netball will support their affiliated members by providing subsidies and mentoring opportunities to help develop coaches / tutors / umpires / volunteers / players across the region.

Sport Leaders Spirit of 2012 Tutor Training Funding

up to £150

If your organisation falls under any of the three criteria stated by Sports Leaders then you may be able to apply for up to £150 Spirit of 2012 funding to go towards your tutor training cost.

Leicestershire & Rutland Community Foundation: Donors Fund

up to £3,000

Donor Profiles give groups looking for funding space to give brief details of activities they would like to run over the next year and for which they are looking for additional funding support.

Blaby LSA - Community Sport & Physical Activity Grant Scheme

up to £250

As part of the Blaby District Local Sports Alliance’s commitment to supporting local sport and physical activity, the Blaby Community Sport & Physical Activity Grant Scheme aims to support the development of local sport and physical activity opportunities by offering financial assistance to community-based instructors and organisations with a goal of sustaining activities.

Hedley Foundation

A charitable foundation which supports young people, the disabled and the terminally ill.

David Wilson Foundation Grants

£100 to £5,000

The Foundation has been primarily created to help young people achieve their potential in life. We are supporting all education and sport and particularly those wishing to enter the construction industry.

The National Hockey Foundation

Grants to meet one of their chosen areas of focus which includes "young people and hockey", "enabling the development of hockey at youth or community level" and "smaller charities".

Lord's Taverners Foundation - Sports wheelchairs

Sports wheelchairs are donated to disabled young people


The aim of the Trust is to advance the physical education of disabled young individuals and groups through the provision of grants to allow their participation in or attendance at sporting activities, or the purchase of equipment for sporting events or activities.

Julie Tullis Memorial Award

Grant to assist mountaineers to achieve their climbing or mountaineering ambitions

The DBA Club Development Fund

£500 to £10,000

Fund to encourage formally constituted sports clubs of all levels to develop sustainable environments that allow disabled people access to sport.

Cyclists Fighting Cancer

Primarily encourage exercise and activity for the child surviving cancer

Coalfields Regeneration Trust: Community Grants

£500 to £10,000

The Coalfields Community Grants programme provides funding from £500 to £10,000 to organisations who will make a positive difference in their community

BBC's Children in Need grants programme

Open to organisations working with young people who are 18 years and under and are disadvantaged

Market Harborough Charitable Fund

£250 to £2,000

In order to further support local communities in Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland, Market Harborough Building Society created its own Charitable Foundation in 1999.

Leicestershire and Rutland Playing Fields Association Starter Grants

up to £500

Grant to help with starting a new sport at your club; setting up a new team; encouraging a different group of people to take part in sport; or developing new skills such as coaching

GO GOLD Funding Programme

£250 to £1,000

Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport (LRS) and our partners are pleased to support talented young athletes through the GO GOLD Funding Programme.

St Matthews Big Local

up to £1,000

This Small Grants programme has come from the Big Lottery Fund and is available to individuals and not for profit groups working with beneficiaries from the St Matthews Estate, Leicester.

£30,000 is available in small grants to projects that will contribute to the St Matthews Big Local vision.
