Welcome to Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport's (LRS) Funding Finder! There are a number of local, regional and national sources of funding available for clubs/groups, facilities, talented individuals and coaching. Use our Funding Finder below to identify the most suitable funding schemes.

Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport can provide further advice and support for your club/group to identify the most applicable source of funding and support you with the application process. Please visit the Funding pages of our website or use our Funding Support service in your Dashboard.

Receive our 'Funding & Clubs Newsletter' - highlighting the most recent and suitable funds available. You will first need to register and log in, go to your 'Dashboard' and under your Profile, select 'Clubs & Funding' in your Email Preferences.

Local, Regional and National funding sources can added to Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport's (LRS) Funding Finder. To submit a funding source, you will first need to register and log in and then click Add Fund. You should then complete the online form. All submissions will be approved by LRS prior to becoming live.

Leicestershire & Rutland Community Foundation - Wesleyan Foundation Grant

Magic Little Grants

up to £500

The Magic Little Grants Fund provides local charities and community groups the opportunity to access up to £500 funding to deliver engaging physical activities, which help to overcome barriers to participation and has a primary aim to improve the physical health and well-being of participants.

Bowls Development Alliance - Play Bowls Package

up to £250

£250 is available for affiliated Bowls England and English Indoor Bowls Association (EIBA Ltd) to deliver a Play Bowls Day (Open Day) followed by 4 x Play Bowls 4 Fun sessions, which are an informal, relaxed, coaching session with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment!

The Mick George Sports Fund (in partnership with Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport)

£500 to £1,500

The Mick George Sports fund, run in association with Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport, is open to local sports clubs and organisations that meet the necessary qualifying criteria of supporting the delivery of sport and physical activity.

The Swimathon Foundation

£500 to £2,500

The Swimathon Foundation – the charity behind the world’s biggest fundraising swim, Swimathon.

DM Thomas Foundation

up to £30,000

The Foundation's central grant fund supports small charities working in the areas of education or health with one of three chosen focus groups:
• Children and young people with disabilities
• Children and young people who are sick in hospital
• Children and young people who are life limited (requiring palliative care)

Football Foundation - Grow the Game

The Foundation’s Grow the Game Scheme provides grants of up to £1,500 for the creation of new football teams and coaching qualifications, with money provided by The FA. The Scheme is delivered by the Foundation.

Intelligent Energy Charitable Trust

Intelligent Energy, the Loughborough based fuel cell engineering company, have launched a £100,000 Charitable Trust Fund to benefit local community groups and organisations in the Charnwood area.

British Cycling - The Places to Ride Programme

The Places to Ride programme will fund the development of new or the improvement of existing cycling facilities in communities across England.

Mick George Community Fund

£10,000 to £50,000

The Fund supports projects located in proximity to our donor’s (Mick George Ltd and recently acquired Frimstone Ltd) landfill sites and other waste treatment sites situated throughout the East Midlands and Anglian regions.

Canoe Polo Grants

The BC canoe polo committee has been awarding small grants to clubs and organisations for several years for projects that help expand the number of available facilities that can be used to host regional and national events as well as projects that will increase participation in canoe polo.

Cricket World Cup Club

up to £1,000

Become a Cricket World Cup Club in 2019 and ‘be part of the World’s Greatest Cricket Celebration’. Connect with the local community through family-based activities and bring the excitement of the Cricket World Cup into your clubhouse.

RLWC2021 Capital Grants Programme

The National Lottery Community Fund - Partnerships

£10,000

Grants are available to voluntary and community organisations in England which work together with a shared set of goals and values.

National Lottery Awards for All England

£300 to £10,000

National Lottery Awards for All England offers funding from £300 to £10,000 to support what matters to people and communities.

Sporting Capital Fund

£50,000 to £150,000

A £3m fund, the first of its kind in the UK offers investment in the form of simple, flexible repayable loans of between £50k to £150k. These loans are designed to support the sustainable development of community sport clubs that deliver impact.

Hinckley and Bosworth Backed for the Future

As part of Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council's commitment to supporting talented young sports people, in partnership with Places for People Leisure they are offering a complimentary free membership for Hinckley Leisure Centre.

Active Rutland Small Grants for Equipment Fund

up to £2,000

The Small Grants for Equipment Fund is available to any sport and physical activity providers within Rutland. The purpose is to increase opportunities and support the development of grass roots participation in sport and physical activity at a local level.

HSBC Golf Roots Plus

up to £1,500

The purpose of an HSBC Golf Roots Plus project is to support local groups and organisations working with young people where involvement in
golf may provide an alternative and positive focus.
