Cricket is changing and we need brilliant, energetic people like this to help. We have a bold plan to inspire thousands of women across the country into volunteering and we are using the Cricket World Cup to make it happen. The role will be responsible for designing an impactful programme of All Stars Cricket activity in your city. All Stars Cricket is the England and Wales Cricket Board’s entry level participation programme, aimed at providing children aged five to eight with a great first experience in cricket.

Six months ago, we at the ECB launched our South Asian Action Plan to better engage with South Asian communities at every level of the game.

We believe that cricket is uniquely placed to engage with the nation's South Asian communities and next year's ICC Cricket World Cup will prove invaluable in this. With that in mind, we have announced we will receive £1.2 million from Sport England after a successful bid for their support. This will help us to take All Stars Cricket, our entry level programme for 5-8 year olds, into our cities and use it as a vehicle to engage 2,000 South Asian women with volunteering roles over the next four years.

It is vitally important work, as:

  1. Women, and South Asian women in particular, are traditionally under-represented in cricket.
  2. BAME women have historically had poorer health records than other communities in the UK.
  3. By focusing on recruiting and supporting a diverse volunteer network we continue to make cricket more diverse.

To achieve this, we are going to bring in a remotely-based Programme Manager and eight Programme Executives - working across Birmingham, Bradford, Leeds, Leicester, London, Manchester and Nottingham - to inspire thousands of women across England.

We need the right people to bring this project to life. So, if you are that someone who is passionate about the role women can play in inspiring kids to get active and in bringing communities together – we would love to hear from you.
