About the role
Sense has an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Arts, Sports and Wellbeing team as a Sport and Physical Activity Coordinator. This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week from home. You will be based in the South West of England, our key areas in this region are Exeter, Cornwall, Glastonbury and Bristol.
As our Sport and Physical Activity Coordinator, you will be responsible for the delivery of our Sport England funded 'Sense, Active Together' project. You will build a network of delivery partners and sport organisations, finding the right people to lead both face to face and virtual sessions. You'll also work with local schools, organisations, and our own Sense services to promote the project to participants, ensuring we're connecting the right individuals with the things they enjoy.
Key skills and experience
Our ideal candidate will be proactive and solution focussed, with the ability to develop and manage successful projects. You'll have a strong understanding of the sporting landscape in your area, and the ability to build and maintain a network of high-quality partners and organisations. You must be comfortable working with a team who are geographically spread across the country, where communication is key, and also working independently.
It's essential that you have an understanding of the needs of people with complex disabilities, and are able to align yourself with Sense's values to provide the best service to the people we support.
About us
For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to help people communicate and experience the world.
We believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.
Sense has a proven record of offering high quality, pioneering services.
Working at Sense can be incredibly rewarding; we offer the opportunity to work in a large, diverse and successful charity where people can develop their skills, knowledge and careers in a supportive and flexible environment. In addition we have excellent training and development, the opportunity for you to join our Group Personal Pension scheme and a generous annual leave entitlement.
