One of the specific duties of the LRS Board is to take a collective decision to determine the strategic direction of the Board. The LRS Board on the 6th October 2017 adopted a Physical Activity & Sports Strategy (2017-2021). The Strategy provides a framework for action for our partners working across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland. It needs local authorities and Local Sport Alliances working closely with public sector bodies including health, sports clubs (professional and voluntary), National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGBs) and the education, voluntary and private sectors, working alongside communities across the sub region realise our ambitions.
At its meeting on 6th October 2017, the Board also approved the LRS Physical Activity & Sport Business Plan (2017-2019). This plan is the LRS core teams response to delivering the partnership wide strategy for physical activity and sport. The LRS Board at its Business, Oversight and Audit Committee will take a pro-active role to ensure the effective performance of the LRS Business Plan.
