Team Leicestershire returns as Schools compete for County glory

The Team Leicestershire programme is back underway for 2017/18, with over 20 County Finals mapped out in the school's county final competition calendar.

Team Leicestershire is the umbrella association for the traditional competitive school sport offer across Leicestershire, Leicester City and Rutland. It aims to ensure that as many young people as possible have the opportunity to participate in competitive school sport.

This academic year, all secondary Schools have affiliated to Team Leicestershire, alongside several independent schools and Colleges. School fixtures are now underway across the districts as Schools compete against one another in Table Tennis, Netball, Hockey, Boys Football, Futsal, Badminton, Girls Football, Basketball and Cricket. The finalists will then compete for ultimate glory in the Team Leicestershire Finals in their respective age group competition:

Table Tennis

  • Under 16 Boys – 14th November
  • Under 13 Boys – 16th November
  • Under 19 Boys – 21st November
  • Under 13, Under 16, Under 19 Girls – 23rd November


  • Girls Year 7, 8, 10 – 7th December


  • Girls & Boys Year 7/8 – 30th January 2018
  • Girls & Boys Year 9/10 – 15th March 2018

Boys Football

  • Year 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 – 6th February
  • Under 19 – 10th May


  • Girls Year 7 – 20th February
  • Girls Year 8/9 – 21st February
  • Girls Year 10//1 – 22nd February


  • Key Stage 4 Girls – 26th February
  • Key Stage 4 Boys – 27th February
  • Key Stage 3 Girls – 28th February
  • Key Stage 3 Boys – 1st March
  • Under 18 Boys & Girls – 8th March

Girls Football

  • Year 7, 8/9, 10/11, FE – 10th May


  • Girls Year 7, 8, 9, 10/11 – 13th March
  • Boys Year 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 & Under 19 – 20th March


  • Boys Under 12, Under 14, Under 19 - TBC

Team Leicestershire also gives every school bespoke access to an online school fixtures system, where school staff can easily manage all fixtures and results.
