Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport (LRS) are seeking to recruit a Manager (Strategic Relationships) for two years. A key focus for this role will be the ability to influence the development of the Leicester and Leicestershire Local Industrial Strategy and the Leicester and Leicestershire Growth and Infra-Structure Plan from a health, well-being, physical activity and sport perspective.
The Manager (Strategic Relationships) role is a shared post between Sport England and Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport which will seek to change how strategy is grounded locally to meet the key strategic challenges and make best use and alignment of all the available resource, capacity and skills.
The key purpose is to strengthen the relationship between local delivery and national programme design, ensuring resource rooted locally is well-connected nationally, and local intelligence and 'on the ground' experience, informs the design of national programmes.
LRS is renowned as one of the strongest County Sport Partnerships in the country, we currently have an exciting opportunity to work within our dynamic and exciting team based at SportPark, Loughborough University.
The post of Assistant Sports Development Officer is a full time position (37 hours per week) at Grade 8 (£21,144 - £23,111) on an initial 12 month temporary contract (subject to funding). With a relevant BTEC higher/NVQ4 or degree you will have a proven track record of working in Physical Activity/sport and or community development. You will also have experience of project management and partnership working.
You will support the delivery of specific projects, programmes and initiative helping to ensure that they are delivered on time and on budget. Examples only – this is not a definitive list: Active Schools, Early Years, Satellite Clubs, Physical Activity Intervention Programmes, School Sport Competition Programmes, Workplace Health.
A unique and exciting position is now available for a motivated and ambitious individual who has a passion and an understanding about sports & physical activity facility/open/informal spaces development and the role they play in increasing regular participation in sport and physical activity. You will have responsibility for:
- Leading on the delivery of the 'Active Places' Ambition area of the LRS Physical Activity & Sport Strategy
- Supporting Districts/Localities to deliver against their Local Facility Development Plans
- Providing advice on sport and physical activity facilities/open/informal space development
- Identifying developer contribution opportunities and supporting with funding applications
