The BEDSAs are designed to recognise and celebrate the contributions made by black and minority ethnic communities. The Awards will help drive change in the sport sector where more role models from more communities in more sports are a priority to increase participation.
The recognition of hard work and dedication stimulates interest and unearths talent on and off the field of play.
Relevant award categories linked to our localised community and workforce remit around diversity and inclusion are:
- Coach of the Year Award
- Unsung Champion of the Year Award
- Community Sports Project of the Year Award
- Connecting Communities Award
The Awards aims to inspire people from BAME communities to take part in sport, progress their sporting excellence and to become a coach or give something back to their community using sport as a medium to do so.
