The Team Leicestershire Finals commenced for the 2019/20 season with two action-packed evenings of table tennis at Knighton Park Table Tennis Club! The first final was the U16 boys held on the Tuesday, 12th November, with the U13's boys finals taking place on on the following Tuesday (19th November).
Both evenings were a fantastic showcase of the talent in the sport across Leicestershire schools, with some high-class players producing some exciting and intense match action.
Mike Smith, Schools Table Tennis Association Lead, said: "It is the best standard of competition in a long time, with some extremely close, high quality games."
In the U16's final, Uppingham Community College beat Hastings High School 5-3 in the final, with an excellent performance from both teams.
Stand out players from the night, were Reuben Warburton who was unbeaten throughout the whole competition and so was Alex Boon of Rawlins Academy.
The U13's followed suit, again with some great matches, however Manor High School put on a showstopping performance to secure a 7-1 win in the final against Leicester Grammar School, with The Market Bosworth claiming third place with a fantastic 8-0 victory against Lancaster Academy!
