Misterton Hall Cyclo-cross- 1st

On Sunday I raced in West Midlands Cyclo-cross League at Misterton Hall. I'd raced there several weeks ago and finished 2nd, not bad considering I'd had a season off from this specific cycling discipline.
I attacked from the off and secured an early lead. I was able to hold on to my lead to take the overall win :-)

Coalville Wheelers Road Race - 8th

Last weekend I took part in Coalville Wheelers road race which was 101 km, my longest race to date.
With the race only being 15mile away I was lucky to not have to travel far.
During the race there was a few attacks but none of them lasted due to a strong bunch. In the last 1km there was a hill followed by a long drag up to the finish. I made sure I stayed in the first half of the bunch on the hill, then it was a sprint to the line. I came 8th and first junior :)

Junior women's road race part 2

On the last lap the pace slowed down considerably as riders were preparing for the finish. So with 3 miles to go and having positioned myself near the front I decided to execute my pre race strategy and attack. With my team mates marking the front of the race I was able to get a considerable gap going into the long up hill finish. I held my position all the way to the line to take a comfortable victory.

A win at the Junior women's road race at Bourne part 1

Last weekend was one of not many junior women's road races only. So I was really looking forward to it and I was really happy to get the win.
Here is a short summary of how the race went for me. From the start of the race I kept my position near the front so I could monitor the race and chase down any potential attacks. After the first QOM I made an attack but it was short lived. Throughout the race other riders had the same idea but due to the strength within the main group nothing lasted.

Tour Of Reservoir

Last weekend I raced the Tour Of Reservoir in Newcastle which was part of the Women's National Series. It was a tough 2 days with thousands of feet of climbing and a strong field of women. So I was really pleased to finish 30th overall out of 70 starters and I was 6th junior.
The thing I was most happy about from that weekend was being one of the youngest there at 16, I actually finished the races which were both 60 miles long.

North west junior women's tour - 9th overall

Last weekend I went up to Lancashire to race the NWJWT. The event consisted of a 3km prologue which I came 14/50, a hilly road race which I came 11th and a 20 lap circuit race. During the final race I attacked and stayed away for 4 laps winning the first prime. The bunch eventually chased me down so I sat in waiting for the sprint finish. Unfortunately there was a big crash with 1 lap to go, luckily as it occurred in the last 3km I got the same time as the bunch and I finished 9th overall.

Podium at Hillingdon Youth National

Hillingdon hosted the 6th round of the Youth Circuit Series and 60 + riders were signed up into my race category. I was really pleased to podium (3rd), it also means I am currently lying 5th in the overall series with one round remaining (Scarborough). During the race there were several attacks but they were all closed down so it was all resting on a bunch sprint. I positioned myself well heading into the final straight and it paid off.

Looking forward to tomorrow as I will be competing in my first ever National Youth Track Championships at Derby.

Round 2 Icebreakers Newport (track).

Firstly, I would like to say thank you to go gold funding for giving me this money as it will help with costs of traveling, race entries and some towards a new track bike.

Last week I took part in the second round of the Icebreaker series at Newport. I raced 5 events which consisted of a Scratch, Points and elimination race. I finished 6th overall which was an improvement from the previous months race. My next few races will include Round 3 Icebreakers, 4 midland omniums and Hetton youth circuit national. In the mean time I will be training hard.
