GoGold Talent Camp
Last week I attended the first GoGold talent camp and I found it really useful, as an athlete wanting to make his sport a career the workshops that were put on came at a really important time for me. With teaching on S& C, media, nutrition and psychology I could take something form them all, I would highly recommend this in the future. Thanks GoGold

Last meet of the season
On the 20th of August, was the last league meeting for one of my clubs Birchfield harriers, in London. I ran in the 100m and got 10.82 into a head wind and then 200m got 21.25 which was okay for the end of the season. Birchfield took the overall win which was great to be a part of.

A few weeks ago I competed in the Manchester international, which was a great meet, with all the home nation's, Denmark and GB junior going head to head. Going into this race I hadn't been doing a lot in training as I'd been away, bit I came a way with a win and a good time of 20.82 and a windy season best. Give it a watch below.

On the 30th of August I represented Leicestershire and Rutland in the inter-counties champions, there were three rounds on the day and I wasn't really up for the task feeling quite tried after a busy week, I came away in 4th place which was disappointing knowing that I am capable of more. We learn from it and on to the next one.

On 2nd July I competed in the British Championships and world championship team trial's. This year the 200m was the most competitive it has ever been with wold class sprinters in the field. In my heat, I felt I could have ran a better bend and worked more coming off the bend but had a great finish to come 3rd with a seasons best of 20.94.

Since the Loughbough International I have raced in London at a BAL running 21.17 from lane 2 and then at the Midlands champs came away with two silvers in the 100m & 200m running 10.37 & 20.73, both windy. At the national under 23 champs I ran well in the heats, semis and final but stepped on the line in the 200m so got DQ in the final after coming close 2nd running 20.67. On the British Champs next week, feeling ready for it, BBC2 2.15pm if you'd like to watch.

Starting the season
Last weekend I competed for Loughborough university at BUC's, on Sunday I had the heats for 200m. From last year where I had poor starts to my races I wanted to make improvements. I ran a nice bend and got out of the blocks well, qualifying for the semi-final with the second fast time. In the semis the next day, I was really up for getting a good start, but in the set position I just anticipated the gun and false started. I am thankful for the experience and happy that it shows I've got the speed in my legs…..

Back at it again
So far winter has been going good for me, I'm feeling strong at training on track and in the gym. I've made the decision not to do any indoor competitions, I just didn't feel the need to as things are going well in training and I'm enjoying it. Just putting the work in.

After my run at the England senior championships I has invited to run at the Manchester international which is a home nation match between England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, GB juniors and a team form the British athletics league (BAL). I was invited to be part of the England relay team and the BAL 200m. In the 200 I ran well with a time of 21.07 getting 3rd and I was happy to end my season with a good time. The relay when well also, as we finished in 2nd. That was the last comp of the season for me.

English Senior Championships
On the 31st of July, I took part in the Senior English Championships in Bedford, I had three rounds in one day with some good commentators so I was hoping to run some good times. In the heats and semi-finals, I ran 21.0's and made it into the final in lane 4. The final was a good race but I just ran out of steam at the end. I came 2nd overall with a best time of the day of 21.09 so was happy with my performance.

British Senior Championships
On 26th June I was invited to compete in the British Championships and Olympic trials. My aim at the start of the season was just to make the final, going in the race I knew it would be tough as there was a lot of fast athletes. In the heat I ran well with a strong finish to get a 2nd place qualifying for the final. In the final I had lane 8 which was tough as I was being chased from the gun. I got 7th but was happy just to be in the final.

Under 23 Championships
On the 19th of June I raced in the Under 23 National championships I knew that it would be a tough day as I had three races in one day if I was to make it to the final. I raced comfortably in the heats and semi-finals to get in the final. In the final I just struggled to drive hard out of my blocks, coming on to the straight I picked up and ran a nice straight and pushed on for second. 3 hundredth of a second behind first, overall I'm happy with my performance.

Midlands Championships 2016 Day 2
On Sunday I ran in the 100m, I did this because I need to improve my starts. In my heat my start wasn't great but got up to speed quickly, in the final I got out of the block very well and ran a PB of 10.63 with a relaxed race, which I was very happy with. Both times have moved me up the rankings which is great. I am happy that things are coming together at this point in the season, with the Nationals and Olympic trials coming up.

Midlands Championships 2016 Day 1
On the 11th and 12th of June, I competed in the Midlands Championships over 100 and 200 metres, on Saturday I ran 200m, in the heats I ran well and got 21.27 and very happy with my start. In the final I felt like I got out slower and when I finished my race It felt slower but when I found out my time I was surprised to find that it was a season's best time of 20.88 and the win. It's good that I have gone sub 21 again and it's my 3rd fastest time of all time.
14th Jun, 2016
On Sunday the 22nd May I competed in the LIA in the 200m for Loughborough University, I was in probably the fast race of my life, so was feeling a bit nervous. I ran a seasons best from the outside lane, but the wind was illegal. It was good to run a fast race and see improvement, on to Manchester this weekend.
2nd Jun, 2016
Last weekend I raced in the Leicestershire county championships, on Saturday my first event was the 100m, this was to improve my starting. I got out well and ran an official PB 10.71 then in the afternoon I ran the 400m for speed endurance, I won this and keep a good pace around the track. On Sunday, I ran in my main event the 200m and won this in a season best of 21.19 but it was too windy to be official, but it shows I am getting faster. Great to be county champ over all the sprints.
19th May, 2016
Last weekend I continued the beginning of my season down in Eaton on Saturday racing for Birchfield Harriers in the British athletics Premier league, it was a really good standard of competition and all I was looking for was an improvement from BUCs, managed the new season's best of 21.55, but still hoped for more. On the Sunday I was racing in Tipton for the Leicester Coritanians where I ran the 100m, 200m and both relays. I was really happy to take my time down again to 21.4 and even ran a life time best in the 100m of 10.5.

Season Opener @ BUC's
On the 1st and 2nd of May I opened up my 2016 athletics season at the British University Championships. Running the 200m heats and semis on the Sunday where I managed to run quite relaxed and comfortably made it through to the final on the Monday. In the final I didn't have my best race and came second by 600th of a second. My time throughout the weekend were not that fast but at least consistent for my opening races of the season. I also was part of the Loughborough University relay team which dominated, to get the gold.

Warm Weather Training
Last monday I got back from my time out in Portugal doing some warm weather training, It was a really good time and and chances to get some speed work done in the warm sunshine which was lovely. Last year this time really set me up well for the season and I hope that this year will be the same.
11th Apr, 2016
Over February I had a few indoor races over 200m, used as a brake in training. First was the University championships, I comfortable made it to the final but got lane 1 which I struggled with on the tight bends and came 6th in a time of 22.06. The weekend after, the 28th I was invited to the British camps, where I just wanted an improvement in my time. I ran in the heats and semis, not making the final and improved my time to 21.80. I wasn't bother with position because I know that outdoors is where it counts.

Leicester Mercury Sport awards
On Thursday 14th of January I attended the Leicester mercury sports awards, as a nominee for sportsman of the year. It was a great night put on at the Leicester Tiger's ground. I didn't win but it was just a amazing to be in the top three against Matthew Cort a professional golfer and Jamie Vardy a professional football who won the award. A big thank you to LRS and everyone who supported me, mainly my parents.
