For the last month I have been living in Croatia training full time to train for the european qualifiers in may. It has been a great experience so far and I have learnt so much
After a loss against last years champions Warley by a narrow margin, Coventry have gone on to beat Boldmere away and South Derby at home by comfortable margins then a 12-12 draw at Solihull which leaves Coventry at the top of the table. I have been in fine form with 24 goals from my first 4 games.
Just last month in march I was selected for the English Schools team to play against Malta, South Africa and the Nederlands in July. The selection competition was held at Cramwell in which 4 teams randomly made up of the GB squads played off against each other. I was top goalscorer with 24 from 3 games.
After spending a month in Hungary I have developed my fitness massively and improved on my overall game well. This therefore has been a good camp and maybe repeated next year
From a tough draw in malta against greece, malta, ukriane, romania, Slovakia and Israel we gained a good result but unfortunately could not qualify
On tuesday I will be flying out to Gorzow in Poland and will be participating in the Slowianka Cup and will be playing teams such as Ukraine, Poland and Belarus
After a tough couple of days with training times and intensity, the squad has been hit by injuries and illnesses and so the games have been tougher than usual. This has lead to an increase in the fatigue of the athletes. With only 2 days of the camp left the squad is looking tired and exhausted.
After playing the manchester men on the first night we did a tough training session which involved all the physical aspects of playing water polo. The session involved tough physical attributes and tactics which were very different to that which I have done at club level.
Overall the first two training sessions have been a success
Just been selected for the under 19 GBR squad! Not bad for a 15 year old eh?
Got to have a change in coach with also a change in squad.
Looking forward for the challenge for trying to qualify for next years Europeans
I have had 3 weeks off after my euros which we won 2 and lost 2. I scored 4 and was 5th top goalscorer.
During the 3 weeks off I have had all of my exams and am now back into some core hard training program!
In our first game against Russia we were up against a strong team, who, have played together for over 3 years, morning to night. We put up a good fight and after the first quarter were drawing 1-1. We carried on putting on a fight but the class of Russia was too great.
The final score Russia 11-6 GBR
I have recently played in the National age groups finals in manchester. We played 2 semi finals in the 1997 age group and the 1995 age group. We won the first semi final in the younger age group 20-8 against lancaster. I scored 12. We lost the next semi final on penalties after a 12-12 in extra time.
The next day we lost the 1997 final 20-8 after a tough match against favourites manchester. We won the 3rd place playoff against lancaster 12-8 after a tough first half.
So I gained a bronze and silver medal after this weekend.
