After a long absence from the track I finally have a chance to compete at Nuneaton Midlands Champs on 10th June.
My result wasn't what I expected I had wished that I would have jumped over 6m but I didn't.
I am going to have to improve my next jump at my next competition in Newham on June 24th
Yesterday I saw my sports medicine doctor he was happy with my recovery and sent me to have physio to help me improve my range of movement.
After 5 weeks rehabilitation, I have been given the all clear of my injury. Big thanks to my S&C coach Piotr Golaszczyk putting me in the right direction. My trainings are only made possible with GoGold Funding.
It's a shame that I'll miss the County Championship Competition at Saffron Lane this weekend. Looking forward to help out as a volunteer at the event and meeting a great lady called Cherie D'Silva, one that encourage me to make good use of my free time since I can not compete.
As an athlete with disability, I had lots of help from many many people to get me to where I am today, it's good for me to give something back whenever I can.
I am so happy and honoured to attend the award night to receive my grant. I haven't been able to train for 2 weeks due to hamstring injury and competition starting soon I feel disappointed having a injury because it means that I can't train hopefully I learn to hydrate my self to prevent injury
Yesterday was my first outdoor competition in Kingston upon Thames.
Having some problems with my back had less mobility i was a bit apprehensive about if I am able achieve a better result. But i am determined to put it right.
It was a disappointing result, I felt that I want to improve myself by refining new technical drills.
My next competition is on 28th April in Loughborough University where I hope to improve.
My name is Karim Chan and i am a T20 Athlete who specialises in Long jump. Working hard to hopefully forfill my dream to go to the paralympics 2020.
Winter training is going well so far it has been very hard as i've had to juggle training, college, exams and competing. I achieved a new Indoor PB of 6m 20 am looking forward to outdoor season and what this will bring now. This year is the World Para Athletics European Championships in which i am hoping to qualify to Berlin. If I am selected i will join my team and compete for GB again in my first major senior champs.
