Things are starting to get back to normal. Two LCFC training sessions a week and a TASS S&C session once a week. Plus just getting back into the gym with Playermade too.
We fitted in a friendly with Notts County U18's before our opening game with Derby County U18's in the aptly titled Covid Cup group matches. We won that 2-1. WBA next week.
Leicester performed well in both games and I feel like I'm getting some match fitness back. I was pleased to score a few goals from open play and a free kick.
England are keeping in touch with online meetings and education but it looks like the next proper training camp will be in July to start preparing for our U17's Euro tournament later this year.
Restarted school only to be sent home two days later due to someone having a positive lateral flow test. Later he tested negative with a proper test but the 10 day isolation is still being enforced!
So I am exercising as best I can at home.
UEFA did the draw for the WU17's Euro qualifiers. Each group has to play their fixtures between August to October 2021.
Only the group winners get to go to the finals in Bosnia Herzegovina in 2022. England have got Russia, Poland and Belgium in our group. Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are all in different groups.
The restart for football should be end of March with our first club games in early April. Hopefully England will have a camp soon to prepare for the Euro qualifiers.

So still not back to real training but that said things are going well.
For my charity challenge I have so far Run 265KM and collect £630 pounds from very generous sponsors to help the Heart Link charity who support the Glenfield Hospital's Children's Cardiac Unit.
The charity running has also been good for me as I have been motivated to cover 50 - 60 KM per week and Bradgate is near by!
I have actually started to enjoy running again after many years away from competing in Cross Country events.
No Euro qualifiers but I have had group and individual online meetings with the England U16's Coaching Team and they seem happy with my progress but have given me pointers on what they want me to work on going forwards before the next real camps hopefully later this year! This also involved analysis of my previous game footage and tactics for different opponents.

I attended the England U17's camp in mid December and then finally got back on the pitch again for Leicester.
Christmas came and of course everything has since stopped. I was able to train with the Women's 1st team for a while in January but now we are waiting for guidance from the FA about Elite status before I can continue.
Also UEFA have cancelled the Women's U17's Euros for this year so that's a big blow. Hopefully England will arrange a few friendlies later in the year!
Meanwhile as all normal team training is cancelled our LCFC Women reserves and U18's are fund raising for numerous charities with a distance challenge.
Each player is running for their own charity. I am running for Heart Link. They support the Children's Cardiac Care Unit at Glenfield Hospital and do some amazing work to help very ill children and their families!
I am proud to support them!

Quite a lot has happened this month.
I was nominated for a LeicestershireLive Sporting Excellence Award by our Head of PE last month.
I was very fortunate and stunned to win the award and also collect the LeicestershireLive Student of the Year award too!
I was selected to move up an age group into the EnglandU17's Squad. This December camp was for selection to the final squad to play in the UEFA Euro U17's qualifying tournament in early February in Ireland. So now I just have to wait with fingers crossed to hear if I was successful!
Thrown into this I had to isolate due to a someone in school testing positive which meant that training was difficult and I had to go to camp a day late too!
Now after my mocks have finished I can get back to training with the LCFC Women's 1st team once a week.

I had a really good five day England Camp at St Georges Park at the end of October. Apart from spending more time alone than usual due to Covid restrictions we worked on more set plays and playing forwards through the zones. I have been enjoying learning to play as a Centre Back with the different challenges that holds as a midfield player.
As international friendlies are still currently a long way off being allowed, we played Whites v Reds and had a full matchday build-up including the National Anthem. Happy to say the Whites were victorious 3-1. Looking forward I am working hard for selection to a further camp in December and hoping the Euro Qualifiers are allowed to go ahead early next year.
Meanwhile the Warwickshire Girls League has been suspended for a month so I am doing my best to maintain fitness while revising for GCSE mocks.

A lot of things happening this month. First off the season is well underway in the hard fought Warwickshire Girls League. Playing with the LCFC Women U18's is very different to last years U16's team but we are quickly bonding into a competitive unit. We have started with some tough matches but we have managed 3 wins with our play improving with each game. A tough match up against Derby County next week will be interesting!
I have also recently received a call up to the England FA U16's training camp at St Georges Park at the end of October which I am really looking forward too!

Our 1st league match was called off due to facilities still being in lockdown but I am hopeful we will get a league match this Saturday against Coventry City.
I have also made it back into the gym for the 1st time since lockdown started for S&C training with Playermade. Thanks Curtis!
Great news this month for the Women's Club as we are now officially an integral part and wholly owned by Leicester City Football Club. LCFC are now fully behind the Women's Club with lots of coverage on LCTV, through Twitter and Facebook too!
This is very exciting as they want to help to develop football for all girls in Leicestershire not just at the elite level.

This month I have been very fortunate to be allowed to train full time with the LCWFC 1st Team.
This involves two Covid tests a week and following very strict FA guidelines.
That said it has been an absolutely fantastic opportunity to train and test myself against top class players!
This has involved lots of fitness testing and sessions as well as skills work.
Also my under 18's team are resuming training next week so things are definitely looking better.
The squad for Leicester City Women's U18s has been selected and we will be meeting up soon to get to know each other and start preseason training properly!
Already new home training plans have been sent out with lots of fitness work included!
Next season we will be in the hard fought Warwickshire League against the likes of Derby County and West Bromwich Albion and other large Birmingham based teams!
I have also continued doing S&C with Playermade, adding in a little bit of shooting practice too with a small group of footballers outside, which has been really great!

Quite a difference this month! With possible football trials looming hopefully in July/August time, I'm increasing my fitness, mobility and working on some upper body strength too. Some of the Playermade S&C sessions have now moved from Zoom to the park once a week, which is fabulous! I have also been running more 1K time trials to gauge how I am progressing with my fitness levels.
This month I will continue my S&C with the daily sessions from Playermade Training.
I have also signed up to daily online live Coerver coaching sessions for May, this will help me with touch and close ball control and I find it much easier than attempting to do it on my own.
I am currently really enjoying cycling as an alternative to vary my exercises and I am extending the distances covered up to 10miles and enjoying riding to the local woods and the surrounding area.
I am really excited to be selected as a GoGold Athlete for the coming year!
Like everyone else my current season has unfortunately been cut short this year.
After training with the England U15's earlier in the season and recently being asked to train up with the U16's at the beginning of this year I really was hoping to be selected for my first cap for the U15's against Belgium in April. Not happening!
I have training plans from Leicester City Women and S&C with my normal gym at Playermade, who have provided fitness bands and cones and lots of sets and live sessions for me to join in at home.
I am also completing between 5 to 10k runs each day or using a cross trainer to maintain my cardio levels.
I look forward to completing more blogs with hopefully a more interesting content as we go forwards through this difficult time.
