So at the start of this month we had our first socially distanced England camp, this was so good and nice to be back and have final selection in April, so fingers crossed!!
For lightning we are back training twice a week on court and once in the gym which has been so good and the countdown to our first match is on... 6 weeks!!!
Hope everyone is well and still keeping fit!
This month has been pretty difficult with keeping up motivation but I have been mixing it up with starting to do some mountain biking when not training on feet!
We also received some amazing news that from next week we can go back to court and train completing many covid-tests and i have camp next Saturday for Roses Academy Long Squad which I am really looking forward to!
Hope everyone is well and keeping healthy, hopefully there is an end in sight!!
Unfortunately we got the news of netball couldn’t carry on even in an elite setting which has meant we are back to home training with 4/5 zoom calls a week and individual sessions. I’ve been keeping a good structure and am working hard to maintain fitness! Hopefully we can get back to court soon and pick up where we left of with matches!!
i’ve been keeping up my cycling too with getting out on the mountain bike and getting muddy! It was great fun !
Hope everyone is fit and healthy !
After covid cancelling our summer trials for England we were meant to have them the weekend before christmas but unfortunately these were also then cancelled but the selection for the roses academy long squad was announced and i have been selected! really excited for future camps where the final selection will take place in February!
I have still been training with lightning weekly and we hopefully have our first game in january as a friendly :))
Hope everyone had a good Christmas and happy new year.
I’ve been really lucky to continue training throughout lockdown due to Lightning u19 academy being put under the Elite frame work!
This month i’ve had to fitness test, we’ve had training once a week on court and once a week on zoom.
Been training really hard to keep my fitness up and keep going for the main trials this year! Zoom sessions have been back throughout lockdown too!
Hope everyone is staying safe and okay!
For the past few weeks i have finally been able to train to the new normal and inside! I had trials for Loughborough Lightning u19 which i am yet to hear back from…it feels fantastic to get back to things!
I am still training hard and have a few more trials coming up so fingers crossed 🤩
Hope everyone is keeping well and safe
For the past 4 weeks now I've gone back to full training and match play at training!! It feels good to be back on the court, and i'm feeling strong. It's been great to see all my teammates again, set new goals and targets for the constantly changing climate.
I can't wait for full competitive matches to be back, and currently am working hard for trials in the coming weeks for Loughborough Lightning u19! My week is consisting of 2 strength sessions, using my gym membership for everyone active, which is brilliant! 1 court session, and 3 conditioning sessions, which are brilliant, and keeping me busy!
I hope everyone is back training, fit, healthy and having fun!!
During August, I went away to the French Alps. A training holiday for my family!!
Over the period of 2 weeks I rode my bike, up some well known mountains, ran and managed to get a few netball sessions in with my family to ensure I am ready for a return to the court which I have my first training session for on 2nd September!
Fingers crossed for returning to matches by the end of September and get some leagues up and running!
Following government guidelines, i’ve been able to complete my first socially distanced netball session with my friends! It feels good to get back to some normality and i can’t wait to get back on court!
Still trying to keep fitness levels up and after some down time the training is ramping back up to be court fit and a last minute decision to go on holiday training in the French Alps is going to be fun and i can work hard even at altitude!!
My main aim for the past few months has been ensuring i am keeping fit, to return to court at full fitness. This has been in the garden, doing strength sessions and also getting out of the house running. I cannot wait until i can get back on court with my team and smash next season!
At the moment, we have 4 weeks off season, with this first 2 weeks being rest and recovery from the intense training we've had throughout this lockdown. This changes by training by meaning i can get out on my bike more and get some more miles in!! It has also been great now being able to get out with friends on the bike!
Hope everyone is keeping fit and staying safe!
As lockdown continues so does training, I've had weekly challenges set by England and franchise coaches and also zoom quizzes and training so it is great to see everyone!
Recently, through my club I have begun mentoring a younger player, completing challenges together and video calls through training which is keeping my motivation up to be at peak fitness on the return to playing!!
I've got into the routine throughout the week which is really helpful and the variety of training allows me to keep doing different things, ensuring my motivation is high. My training consists of 2 s & c sessions a week, 3 running and interval based sessions, 2 cycling sessions and 3 ball and wall sessions a week.
Training must go on!
This has consisted of home s&c sessions provided by our coaches, with on-feet conditioning to replicate intensities of training and matches...they hurt!! Cycling is also a big part of my training at the minute to get out of the house and not forgetting to keep that fitness up so ready to train when this is all over!!
