1st junior men race

27th May, 2020

Would like to thank lrs for finding me for another year of racing !
My first junior men race was exciting. My Friday night practice in Manchester was good gated were good track speed was good and was getting everything relatively smooth.

Saturday And Sunday we’re pretty much the same race day I was suffering from a lower back pain throughout the day which meant my gates were inconsistent and didn’t put me where I wanted to be, so was always battling from the back I managed to make my way into the semi finals on both days and narrowly missing out on the final by 1 place.

Training with GB

13th Oct, 2019

Over the past couple of years I have been working through the different stages in the British Cycling scheme, I have worked my way up to the National school of racing which is the highest point you can get for my age! As I go into next year I have been offered a place to ride on the graduates, this qualifies me to race junior men a year early.

I have the winter to prepare for this and I'm hoping to do my best and have the support from Lrs !

Thank you LRS

12th Oct, 2019

The 2019 season has finished, I accomplished the majority of my goals. Overall I am happy with how I rode and my attitude to the season coming of a few big injuries.
Just like to say a massive thank you for Lrs for the support and funding!

British championships

28th Aug, 2019

The British Championships was in Derby this year the tracks long and technical.

Saturday was cruiser racing, my goal was to make the final as it was 15 and 16 year old boys mixed, I qualified through my Moro's and into the semi and secured a 3rd place which made me qualify for the final, I managed to pull a 5th.

Sunday was hot! I qualified into the quarters with a 1st 1st and 2nd, in my quarter I finished 2nd, this gave me a spot in the semi final! My semi was on of the harder ones but i pulled a 3rd which gave me the spot in the final. As I was sitting in 2nd going into the corner I went for a move for first and crashed but got up and finished 4th. I guess that's racing.

World and European championship

2nd Aug, 2019

The last few months have been hectic! Flying over to Latvia for the European Championship was awesome the track was technical but fun, I raced both cruiser and 20" my 20" didn't go to plan. But my cruiser I made the final and managed to achieve European number 4!

The worlds in Zolder, Belgium was a hot! 45 degrees for race day my main goal was to get involved and not back off. My day ended early in the 1/16th due to being stuck on the outside. However took positives and negatives away to work on ahead of the next few races.

Can't thank LRS enough for the support you guys are giving me!

Training for the world championships!

29th Jun, 2019

My last race in Peckham i crashed and injured my hand and gave myself mild concussion, time to focus on training for the biggest race of the year

The world championships is a race I look forward too every year, I'm feeling very strong in the gym, and quick on the bike. Just hoping it all pays off for the big race in a few weeks. The track is deep and technical, but very fast!

Would just like to send massive healing vibes out to Edward Pole, after his nasty accident. We wish you the best in your recovery! Stay strong mate!

Another win!

31st May, 2019

Coming off my last national win down in Kent, I was very nervous coming into the race in Birmingham. Friday practice was okay, I still kept a positive attitude towards the First race day, I woke up on Saturday feeling good, I rode up to the track and started doing my warm up. I made it to the final comfortably getting 4th pick. I chose lane 4 which is in the middle and my gate was shocking I got shut down straight away, I managed to get back to 6th. Day2 was the same I made the final comfortably. I had a good gate and slotted in behind the guy in first as we was going down the 3rd straight I had loads more speed so I dived for the inside and going under him and pushing him up, and taking the win

National Win!

25th Apr, 2019

This is my first year with LRS GO FOR GOLD FUNDING

I am training very hard to succeed in my short and long term goals, I have already achieved 1 of my goals for this year winning a national race, I did that last weekend at Cyclopark, in Kent. It was a challenging weekend with the wind but I kept focused and got on with my racing.

Day 1 I felt good in my Motos qualifying into the final and managing to get a 5th from an outside gate.

Day 2 I finished 1st, 2nd (small mistake in the last turn) and 1st, I won my quarter and my semi giving me first pick for the final, I had a good gate and got up to second and then passed him on the last straight to take the win. (video of my final is on my Instagram @williamgoode_04)
