About This Programme
The Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games, now in its eighth year, is part of the national 'School Games Programme'. It aims to keep competitive sport at the heart of schools and provide more young people with the opportunity to compete and achieve their personal best.
It is open to all young people aged 6-18 years, of all abilities and backgrounds from every school across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland - therefore make sure your School gets involved!
Delivered locally by us here at Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport (LRS) and the School Games Organisers (SGOs) in the 10 School Sport & Physical Activity Networks (SSPANs), the Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games provides schools with the opportunity to enhance their existing work in school sport and create a year-round calendar of competition for all students.
We stage the County Final showcase events in the form of Super-Series Finals. Level 2 winning partnership school teams then compete at the Super-Series Final to be crowned 'County Champions' in their particular competition!
Make sure your School has the chance to qualify for the Super-Series Finals, by contacting your School Games Organiser(SGO).
