Sports Organisation Support Covid-19 Fund
The Sports Organisation Support Covid-19 fund aims to deliver immediate funding to those sports clubs, organisations and businesses most in need and require an injection of cash to help them emerge from short term financial hardship or the ceasing of operations due to the ongoing impact of coronavirus.
Closing date for applications will be Thursday 21st May 2020 at 5.00 pm
The funds available will be directed to those most in need. LRS is eager to help organisations where possible to sustain themselves and be ready for business as usual when the lockdown period ends.
It is specifically targeted at organisations in the sport and physical activity sector who have a role in enabling and supporting the communities of Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland to get and stay active. Organisations can apply for grants between £300 and £3,000.
The types of organisations eligible include community sports clubs, charities, community interest companies and voluntary organisations forced to close at short notice but who are facing ongoing costs around maintenance and utility bills. The fund will also consider applications from sole traders and micro businesses who are at risk of ceasing to trade and who can demonstrate they have played their part to deliver or enable physical activity and sport opportunities in Leicestershire, Leicester or Rutland.
To be eligible to apply for the Fund, organisations must be able to demonstrate they have exhausted the funding support options available from the government, local authority, Sport England Emergency Fund or from their respective National Governing Body of Sport. Priority is likely to be given to organisations that have been unable to access funding from these sources.
