Virtual School Games Paralympic Festival
17th - 21st May 2021
This year, we will be running our second ever Virtual School Games County Festival - the LRS Virtual School Games Paralympic Festival.
We hope that this interactive County-wide event will allow lots of young people across all schools in the County the opportunity to participate in and experience a range of Paralympic Sports activities, in school, at home and via our Virtual Together mobile app platform.
Launching on Monday 17th May and running throughout the week, we would love to see as many of you as possible involved with lots of opportunities available to take part.
On this web page you can access a whole range of resources from a number of experts in the sports concerned. Lesson / session plans, skills / activity cards and introductory videos about the sports so you can learn about them as well as experiencing them for yourselves. Our Virtual Together app will also host a number of challenges throughout the week so you can showcase the skills you learn and use them to compete with your friends, schoolmates and other people from schools across the County.
< Resource and Activity Plans Portal
Here you will find activity plans and resources created by NGB's and Delivers to promote and introduce their sport to all young people involve in the Paralympic Festival Week. These resources can be used in schools as lesson plans with multiple adaptions to take into account varying levels of equipment, space and ability. There is something for all schools and young people to take part in.
Virtual Together App Challenges
Our Virtual Together App will host a new challenge everyday starting on Monday 17th May. Sports included in the app challenges will be: Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Rugby, Sitting Volleyball, Athletics and Football.
Showcase your skills and put the activities and sports you have tried at school into practice at home.
Make sure you remember to log your activity!

Entry deadline on Friday 30th April to confirm if your school would like to take part and which of the two engagement opportunities they would like to be a part of.
Depending on the number of schools wishing to take part, a fixture format would be set up with schools being required to play a certain number of games within the week for us to be able to declare a County Champion. Perfect for schools and young people who wish to compete against other school teams, utilising the skills they have and will learnt, to achieve a result and progress through a competition pathway to try and become County Champions.
This element will be more free-form and allow schools to take part with no minimum or maximum expectation in terms of their engagement or the games they play over the course of the week. No need to submit results to anyone. Perfect for schools and young people who wish to take part in friendly games where the focus is not on the outcome or result but more on enjoyment, engaging with young people from other schools and developing their own skills.
