UK businesses are currently facing losses of 4.4 days sick leave, per employee, per year costing the UK economy over £9bn.
In Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland, organisations are experiencing peaks of 12 days per employee, nearly 3 times the national average.
However, it can be hard to understand where to prioritise investment in staff health and wellbeing, especially when moving above and beyond basic health and safety requirements.
This is where the Workplace Health Needs Assessment (WHNA) can help.
What is a 'Workplace Health Needs Assessment'?
The Workplace Health Needs Assessment (WHNA) is a tested tool for organisations of all types and sizes. It provides practical advice on Workplace Health and standardised survey questions to identify the key priority health areas including healthy eating, physical activity, smoking and alcohol awareness and sleep and stress management.
Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport have designed and developed the Wellbeing@Work package which eligible organisations across Leicestershire can access free of charge* to support the implementation of WHNA to identify their areas of health and wellbeing concern and to create a simplified interpretation of data.
The Workplace Health Needs Assessment is sourced from Public Health England & Healthy Working Futures (2017) 'Workplace Health Needs Assessment'.
